Easter Brunch Helpful Tips

When to Shop

Easter is a big food holiday for a lot of people so do NOT save your shopping for the day before Easter.

The best days to shop are the Wednesday and Thursday before Easter.  There is a great selection of food out and your perishables such as fruits and vegetables will still be good on Sunday.

You should only have to run to the store on Saturday if you forget something.

When to Eat

A good time to start Easter brunch is between 11 and 12.  This gives your guests enough time to go to church, let kids find their Easter baskets, and so on.

Any earlier than 11 and people are going to be rushing to make it to your house.

How Much Food To Make

Think of your guests and ask yourself if they are big eaters or light eaters.  This will let you know which direction to head.

We have a mix of big and light eaters, kids and adults, so here is a basic example of our menu.

I will go into more detail further below.

4 Egg Bakes

1 dozen deviled eggs (so 24 halves)

24 Cinnamon Rolls

24 Muffins (regular sized)

100 Sausage Links

Hashbrowns

Fruit – 8 Bananas, 2 bags of Grapes, and a Cantaloupe

Vegetable assortment

Coffee

Bloody Mary Bar

Orange Juice

Milk

1 Batch of Cookies

1 Pan of Bars

Keep it Simple

We both know there are tons of delicious options for brunch food but when you are feeding a crowd it is better to keep things simple.  It will be better for your stress levels😊.

And don’t think you have to make everything homemade.  Save yourself some time and pick up a few premade items from the store.

Use paper plates, paper napkins, disposable cups, and disposable utensils otherwise, you will be washing dishes all afternoon!

Save the fancy part for your decorations!

Ask for Help

If you have a lot of people coming for Easter brunch then don’t be shy about asking everyone to bring a dish to pass.

Making all that food yourself is such an undertaking and it can get expensive!  Unless you want to do it, then you do you girl!

Have a master list going and pick what you want to bring first.  Then send out a group text saying this is what we need, who wants to bring what.  This works and we do it every time my whole family gets together.

Recipe Cards

When I host, I always have a couple of blank recipe cards on hand.  It never fails that someone wants to take home a recipe or 2.

Easter Brunch Ideas for a Crowd

Egg Recipes

Let’s start with eggs because to me eggs scream breakfast and brunch.  There are so many easy egg dishes to choose from.  And you can’t go wrong with any of them.

Scrambled Eggs – These are easy to make and easy to keep warm.

Egg Bake – With only a few ingredients, egg bakes can feed so many.  These are my go-to.

You can dump everything into your baking dish and move on to making something else while it is cooking.  It is so easy.

Check out my easy egg bake recipe here.

Deviled Eggs – Thankfully my sister is a master at making deviled eggs because I cannot get the hang of hard-boiled eggs to save my life.

If you are sure how to make them, here is a quick rundown.  Start with cold hard-boiled eggs and peel them.  Cut them in half the long way and scoop the yoke out into a bowl.

Once you have all the yokes, and a bit of mayonnaise and mix until creamy.  Scoop a bit of this mixture back into the yoke dip (it should be more than full), and then sprinkle with Paprika.

I have heard of a bit of mustard being added to the yolk mixture along with salt and pepper.  Serve cold.

Omelets – If you are a fantastic omelet maker, whip up a bunch of cheese or meat and cheese omelets ahead of time.

Breads and Pastries

Bread/Toast – I love using Texas Toast for gatherings.

Muffins

Quick Bread – Banana, Pumpkin, Zucchini

Cinnamon Rolls – At Walmart, you can find a bag of frozen cinnamon rolls.  It is a time saver while still making your house smell delicious!  I have made these so many times and my kids love them.

Waffles

Pancakes

Coffee Cake

French Toast

Bagels

English Muffins

Biscuits and Gravy

Donuts/Donut Holes – I find that donut holes go over better, that way your guests can try other foods too.

Brunch Side Dishes

Hashbrowns – You know those hashbrowns that are in a rectangle shape, they work great for large gatherings.

Yogurt Cups – Kids love yogurt cups and you can’t go wrong with vanilla.  If you are going to have vanilla cups, get 1 for every kiddo plus a few extras just in case.

Fruit

Berries – Strawberries, Blueberries, Raspberries, Blackberries

Bananas

Oranges

Grapes

Melon – Cantaloupe, Watermelon, Honeydew

Meat

Sausage Links and Patties

Bacon – Have you ever cooked your bacon in the oven?  It is the only way to do it because you have no mess.  Line your pans (with an edge) with aluminum foil and the cleanup is a breeze!

Steak – If you want to get fancy pants, serve steak as a meat option.

Beverages

Water

Milk

Hot Chocolate

Coffee

Tea

Juice

Alcoholic Beverages

Bloody Mary – You can set up a whole Bloody Mary bar.  Here are some examples of garnishes you can set out: beef sticks, cheese curds or sticks, bacon, olives, pickles, shrimp, pickled beans, and celery.  The weirdest thing I have seen as a garnish is cotton candy, can’t say I agree with that one.

Mimosa

Irish Coffee – My family is Irish, need I say more?

Desserts

When you are planning a meal for a crowd, you don’t have extra time to make cute and super festive desserts.  Pick easier desserts and add spring flare to them.

Cookies – Check out my Sheet Pan Cookie Bars recipe.  It is so easy.  Add pastel M&M’s to make them into Easter Cookies.

If you have the extra time then you have to make Easter Cut Out Cookies.  You can frost them or leave them for the kids to have a frosting party on Easter.

Carrot Cake

Lemon Bars – Lemon-flavored anything is perfect for Easter since it is so light and fresh.  It screams springtime.

7 Layer Bars

M&M’s Mix – This is about the easiest dessert you will ever make😊.  Get a family-size bag of each of the Plain M&M’s, Peanut M&M’s, and Peanut Butter M&M’s.  Pour them all into a dish and mix them up.  Boom baby, dessert is complete in under 5 minutes.

Breakfast Toppings

Butter

Syrup

Whipped Cream

Powdered Sugar

Jam/Jelly

Cream Cheese

Peanut Butter

This post was all about the best Easter brunch ideas for a crowd.

What is your favorite Easter memory from when you were a kid?  Let me know in the comment below.

My grandpa lived on a farm when I was a kid and always hosted a huge Easter egg hunt for all the kids.  There were those plastic Easter eggs everywhere.  It was the best time running all over the place trying to find them all.

I look forward to hearing from you and thanks for stopping by.
