MORE FOR YOU TO ENJOY
1. Candy
No matter what else you add to your preschooler’s Easter basket, add a few candy treats. I find that preschoolers love bite-sized treats like M&M’s, Reese’s Pieces, and other mini-sized candy bars.
You don’t have to go overboard. Their little bodies aren’t made to handle that much sugar!
2. Snacks
You and I both know that your preschooler always wants a snack. Sorry to break it to you but this does not stop as they get older!
3. Toothbrush
I can hear you asking, a toothbrush, really?
Yes, get your kiddo a fun toothbrush. Kids can get pretty excited about a toothbrush😊.
4. Rain Boots
Since it is springtime (at least it is here) and spring means puddles, make sure your kiddo is ready to stomp in all of them with a set of rain boots.
Just let the mess happen, mama. You have a shower and washing machine to clean everything up. Build those memories!
I have bought Western Chief rain boots for years and have never been disappointed. They are so durable that my kids have handed them down to my nephew.
5. Umbrella
There are cute small umbrellas that are perfect for preschoolers. And they are cheap too.
6. Flashlight
Kids have so much fun with flashlights.
They can read with them, turn off all the lights and have a dance party, put on a puppet show, and so much more.
7. T-Shirt
Grab a new T-shirt. I love the Cat and Jack brand at Target. They are of great quality and price.
There usually have lots of different prints and colors to choose from.
8. Bubbles
Oh yeah, hours of fun when you bust out the bubbles.
I have a favorite kind of bubble juice because I think we have tried them all. It is the Gazillion Bubbles.
9. Sidewalk Chalk
Take the learning and fine motor skills practicing outside with sidewalk chalk.
Crayola has the best sidewalk chalk. The chalk is vibrant and it washes out of clothes the easiest!
11. Football
This is a dynamite football and one that your little guy can grow with – the Nerf Blitz Football.
With 3 boys, we have lots of different footballs but this one is always reached for above the rest.
12. Soccer Ball
Whether your kiddo is into soccer or not, get a soccer ball if you don’t have one. If you are outside playing with him, he will kick that ball around for hours.
13. Books
Reading is so important for kids so add a book or 2 to build her library.
My kiddos loved these books – The Day the Crayons Quit and Dragons Love Tacos.
14. Coloring Book
Does your kiddo have a favorite character or show? Get a coloring book to match.
In my experience, kids will color way more if they love the characters!
15. Colors
Don’t forget to add some things to add color.
I love twistable crayons for preschoolers. Yes, they cost just a little bit more but they don’t break as easily. If your kiddo pushes hard when coloring then the twistable ones are the way to go.
Crayola Markers and Crayola washable paint are also fun for preschoolers. I would save the colored pencils until kindergarten and up.
16. Play-Doh
I hear you groaning over there but Play-Doh is such an amazing thing for your preschooler to play with.
Instead of the mess, think of all the benefits – works fine motor skills, hand strength, color recognition, creativity, and so much more.
And on top of all that, your toddler thinks it is a blast!
17. Water Wow
Preschoolers are crazy for Water Wow color pads. They get to color with water for a picture to appear and when it dries it disappears so they can do it all over again.
I don’t have mine anymore to show you an example because my kids used them so much that they wore out. But they did last through 4 kids.
18. Games
There are so many benefits when it comes to playing games with your preschooler – learning colors, numbers, and letters, fine motor skills, taking turns, and more.
Here are the preschool games that have the most use around here: Hi Ho Cherry-O, Candy Land, and Let’s Go Fishin’.
19. Barbie
Preschool is the perfect age for playing with Barbies (even though my teen will still set up her Barbie Dreamhouse from time to time but it is all about the decorating now, shh don’t tell her I told you).
20. Dinosaurs
Do you have a dinosaur lover in the house? These little guys are just the right size for preschool hands.
21. Cars and Trucks
No joke, we have over 150 Hot Wheels Cars and Monster Trucks around here and they all get played with.
The best part – they are cheap when you get them a few at a time.
22. Puppets
Let your preschooler’s imagination run wild with hand puppets. Just be ready to be the audience.
We never got puppets but our library has a whole area set up to put on puppet shows and that is what all the kids run for.
23. Boogie Board
Have you seen this LCD writing tablet yet? It is amazing and your kiddo is going to love it.
This Boogie Board is lightweight and can easily be used at home or on the go. When your kiddo gets older, it makes for great homework scratch paper.
My daughter first got one 6 years ago and her brothers wanted to use it all the time so we ended up getting everyone their own.
24. Puzzles
I love everything about puzzles and I can bet that your preschooler loves to figure them out.
It is like getting 6 puzzles in 1 for cheap.
I hope you have the best time celebrating Easter this year with your preschooler. Happy Easter, friend.
