Helpful Kitchen Supplies
Before we get started with the Easter brunch ideas, let's get into the kitchen supplies that will help make this brunch a breeze to host.
Slow Cooker Liners – I love these things since they save on clean-up time!
Jelly Roll Pans - I use these pans all the time year round
Aluminum Foil - This also makes cleanup quick and easy.
Easter Brunch Tips
When to Shop
Head on over to the store the Wednesday or Thursday before Easter if you want to have a good selection to choose from. Lots of people celebrate Easter with a bunch of food so you want to get it before it is all gone.
What Time To Eat
Plan to start Easter brunch somewhere from 11 a.m. to 12 noon.
This time frame will give your guests enough time to go to church, let kids find their Easter baskets, or just sleep in a bit.
How Much to Make
When it comes to planning how much to make, consider your guests' appetites. My husband's side of the family is pretty middle of the road for food consumption and here is an example of our menu.
There are more details below.
2 Egg Bakes
12 Cinnamon Rolls
Fruit – 1 Bag of Grapes, a Cantaloupe, Bananas
50 Sausage Links
Milk
Orange Juice
Coffee
1 Batch of Cookies
1 Pan of Bars
Yes, I always do 2 desserts to have a little variety.
Keep Things Simple
Even though you are looking for small Easter Brunch ideas, you will still want to keep things simple. Girl, keep the stress out of your kitchen!
If some food items are easier to just buy from a store or bakery, don’t be shy to just buy them!
Also, you can use paper plates, paper napkins, disposable cups, and disposable utensils. Do you want to spend your whole Easter afternoon doing the dishes? I sure don’t.
Make It a Potluck
Just because you are hosting don’t think that you have to make everything. Ask your guests to bring some food or drinks. With food prices these days, it is okay that everyone helps.
But if you want to make/get all the food, then go for it girl!
Recipe Cards
Has anyone ever asked you for a recipe of yours before? I have and that is why I like to have a few blank recipe cards on hand so I can jot one down for anyone who asks.
Small Easter Brunch Ideas
What to Eat
Since you have a smaller crowd there are so many fun options for small Easter brunch ideas.
Let’s start with the breads and pastries.
Bread/Toast – Texas Toast is wonderful for brunch and to make French Toast.
Cinnamon Rolls – I like to buy ones that are ready for you to bake in your oven to make the kitchen smell oh-so-good.
Muffins
Quick Breads – There are so many to choose from like banana bread, pumpkin bread, lemon poppyseed bread, and more.
Do you like your banana bread with or without mini chocolate chips in it? We just have to add them.
Let me know in the comments below.
Waffles, Pancakes, or French Toast – This could be the main part and you could set up a whole toppings bar for it.
Coffee Cake
Bagels – I love using those mini bagels for brunch.
English Muffins
Biscuits and Gravy – This is a main menu item for sure because it is so filling.
Donuts or Donut HolesMoving onto Eggs
You have to have eggs somewhere on your menu. It is Easter after all! Thankfully most people like eggs and they are filling while relatively cheap.
Scrambled Eggs – These are super easy to whip up and to keep warm.
Egg Bake – An egg bake is my go-to brunch food. It only takes a few ingredients, it is easy to put together, and 1 egg bake can feed so many.
You have to see this Easy Egg Bake Recipe.
Deviled Eggs – I am not sure how it is in your neck of the woods but around here deviled eggs are a must-have at every single holiday gathering.
My sister is a master at these which lets me off the hook because I just can’t figure them out!
Omelets – Since you have a small crowd, you can let your guests build their own omelets.
I got this idea from when I was in college. There were lots of toppings to choose from and a chef made the omelet to your order right in front of you. You had to get there early that night because there was always a long line.
Potatoes
I am Irish so you might think that I hate potatoes but I just love them.
Breakfast Potatoes
Baby Red Potatoes with Butter
Hashbrowns
Fruit
Think of all the fruits, what you like most, and what is in season (they might be a bit cheaper).
Berries
Melon
Grapes
Bananas
Oranges – The Little Cutie Mandarin Oranges are a great size.
Meat
Bring on the protein!
Bacon – I am a sucker for bacon, how about you? Have you ever cooked it in the oven? Line your jelly roll pan with tin foil, put your bacon on it, and pop it in the oven. There is less mess and hardly any cleanup.
Sausage Links and Patties
SteakCrowd-Pleasing Beverages
Milk
Water
Juice
Coffee
Tea
Hot Chocolate
Alcoholic Beverages
Mimosa
Irish Coffee
Bloody Mary – On my side of the family there is always a Bloody Mary bar for the holidays.
I like mine simple with a beef stick, green olives, dill pickles, and cheese. But I have seen people fill up their cups with garnishes that include, but are not limited to, bacon, shrimp, pickled veggies, celery, and even a slider-sized burger.
Desserts
Who says you can’t have dessert at breakfast? Don’t forget about them.
Carrot Cake – This festive cake is delicious with cream cheese frosting.
Lemon Bars – These are light and fresh, like tasting spring.
Cookies – If you are looking for an easy cookie recipe that everyone will be asking you about, check out my Sheet Pan Cookie Bars recipe.
You can make it completely Easter by sprinkling pastel M&M’s on the top after you spread the cookie dough onto the pan.
Do you want to make Easter Cut Out Cookies instead, then you have to see this recipe.
7 Layer Bars
M&M's Mix – This is incredibly hard to make. Are you ready? Get a family-sized bag of each the Plain M&M's, the Peanut M&M's, and the Peanut Butter M&M's. Pour them all into a bowl and mix them up. Bada bing, bada boom. I know you can handle this one.
Toppings
Don’t forget about these toppings. They will make your brunch complete.
Butter
Syrup – What is your favorite kind? We like Mrs. Butterworth around here.
Whipped Cream
Powdered Sugar
Fruit Preserves – Jelly, Jam, and Marmalade
Cream Cheese
Peanut Butter
Happy Easter, friend.
