Best Gifts For 6th Grade Boy
MORE FOR YOU TO ENJOY
1. Snacks
6th grade boys are hungry, like, all the time! Stock him up with his favorite snacks.
Amazon has snack boxes that make it so easy to give your guy a variety.
Even though this is a gift, I always try to include some healthy snacks in there too.
2. Books
I am hoping your boy is as big of a reader as my son is. There are so many amazing book options these days and they make fantastic gifts.
You can’t go wrong with the Diary of a Wimpy Kid series or Harry Potter.
3. Rubik's Cube
If your boy likes to solve things then you have to get him a Rubik’s Cube or a Rubik’s Pyramid. It will be challenging and entertaining for him.
So far, my son only has the Rubik’s pyramid.
Even though it was frustrating at first, he continued to work at it and now he can solve it no matter how it gets mixed up. It just takes time.
4. Remote Control Vehicles
Any kind of remote control vehicle is so much fun for 11 and 12-year-old boys. There are cars, trucks, boats, and even helicopters.
This fascination doesn’t go away as they get older either. Our neighbor has an epic remote control car and he is in his 50s.
5. Laser Tag
Holy smokes, he is going to have a blast playing laser tag with his siblings and his buddies. It is even more fun when they get to play it in the dark.
This set is amazing. It does come with vests but the laser guns have sensors on them too, just in case the vests are a little snug.
This last Christmas my husband along with 2 of our kiddos and our nephew ran around outside for about an hour playing this and they said it was the best activity they ever did on Christmas. So much fun.
6. Nerf Guns
Nerf Guns are always fun.
When my kids’ friends come over and they are stuck inside, they always have an epic Nerf battle. Make sure you have safety glasses for them.
I have to be honest. Even though I also enjoy a good Nerf battle, I love laser tag even more. There is no mess and nothing of mine has been broken from it, yet.
7. Walkie Talkies
Get him a rocking set of walkie-talkies. I am talking about “Man Walkie Talkies” here. They are so worth it.
Do not get him cheap kid ones. You will be just as disappointed as we were with them. Learn from our mistakes, people.
8. Sports Cards
So many 6th grade boys love one sport or another and there are trading cards for them all.
All my boys love football and will spend hours reviewing their NFL cards.
To keep all those cards in the best shape possible (and not all over your house), include a binder.
I got my boys this small binder and this big binder. Both of them zip all the way closed so there is no chance of losing any cards out of them.
9. Watch
If he is interested in a watch, check this one out. It is a fitness tracker and it is inexpensive.
This is such a better option than a more expensive watch because he may not even like wearing it and then you are the one who is out a bunch of money for a dust collector.
My son wears his every day and loves it.
10. Clothes
I am sure your boy is growing just as much as mine is and that means he needs some new clothes. And you know what, they make great gifts.
There are tons of character t-shirts to choose from. Size up so he can hopefully fit into it for a little bit.
11. Shoes
Shoes are not a boring gift if he has his eye on a certain pair. He will be wowed!
You can't go wrong with Crocs. My boys wear them everywhere I let them.
12. Hats
Hats, hats, hats, boys love wearing hats. You can get him a ball cap or winter hat for the school he attends, every school has its own gear these days, or you can go for his favorite pro sports team.
This is one gift you can be sure he will use.
13. Sports Equipment
There are so many directions you can go with sports equipment, Wowza.
You could get him a new basketball hoop and a basketball.
Or maybe he needs new baseball equipment since he grew, again. You can go for a new baseball glove, baseball bat, adjustable batting tee, baseballs, or a hitting net.
What about football? I hear you, girl, and Nerf is where it's at. Try the Nerf Blitz or Nerf Howler Football.
If he is all set for footballs then you could also look at a quarterback net or football tee.
And last but not least, soccer. A new soccer ball and soccer net will keep him outside practicing for hours.
Don’t be shy, get out and play all his favorite sports with him. Believe it or not, he wants you out there!
14. Bike
A bike is a fantastic way for a 6th grade boy to get around but I am pretty sure he is too big for his old bike. Get him a bigger one.
My kids ask to ride their bikes everywhere they can.
15. Fishing Gear
If he is into fishing, get him some gear. It does not matter if he already has some because you can always use more fishing gear.
Tackle Box or Tackle Bag (my kids have both of these, and they all have their own)
The tackle I am describing is mostly for pan fish, Northern Pike, and Bass.
16. Hunting Gear
Pick up some middle of the road priced hunting gear for him, he is just going to grow again and you don’t want to be out a boatload of $$$.
17. Binoculars
He should be more than capable of taking care of a decent set of binoculars. I am not talking completely high-end, just nice.
But if your husband wants a stellar set, or you want them for yourself, my husband has these and they are phenomenal. They are made to hunt in the western United States, for long distances.
Vortex binoculars make a great Father’s Day gift or Christmas gift.
18. Water Bottle
Get him a heavy-duty water bottle for his birthday. If you don't know it, ask him what his favorite color is and run with it.
Hydro Flask water bottles are so great.
I find myself “borrowing” my daughter’s as much as I can😊.
19. Video Games
I have such love-hate feelings for video games but I know 6th grade boys can’t get enough and will play as much as you let them.
The Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch Lite are extremely popular (and so much fun to play, even for me).
20. Board Games
If you are looking for a little less screen time, try a board game.
Ticket to Ride and Taco Cat Goat Cheese Pizza are so much fun to play.
What are your favorite snacks when you have a game night? Let me know in the comments below.
We usually have popcorn and sometimes cheese and crackers.
21. Spikeball
My brother introduced my boys to Spikeball and immediately they were obsessed and I know your 6th grader will be too.
It is a game that he can play with his buddies as he grows and can take it on the go too.
We do not have this game yet. I bet you can’t guess what my son is getting as one of his birthday presents😉.
22. Air Hockey
If you have some extra space, look at getting an air hockey table. It will get used!
My nephew has one and you cannot get the boys away from it any time we go for a visit.
23. Gift Cards
Did nothing on this list say “this is the gift”? That’s too bad but there is still hope.
Get him a gift card.
It could be to his favorite restaurant, store, or even to the movie theater.
This post was all about the best gifts for 6th grade boy.
