Best Halloween Games
1. Halloween Scavenger Hunt
Kids, tweens, teens, adults, no matter what age, I have never met anyone who doesn’t like to do scavenger hunts.
They can be as easy or challenging as you want them to be.
It can be done at a Halloween party or any time during the Halloween season with your kids.
Try out this Halloween Scavenger Hunt.

2. Pumpkin Bowling
Bowling is a game that anyone can try. Turn it festive by using pumpkins as bowling balls.
Pick up some small round pumpkins that will be easy for young kids to hold onto.
Set up these bowling pins.
We have done this and had the kids stand back 5 to 10 feet depending on their age. Have them roll a small round pumpkin to see how many pins they can knockdown.
Playing 3 frames, or rounds is about right for kids' attention spans. Of course, you can increase this number if the kids are older.
3. Pumpkin Decorating Contest
Do you love decorating pumpkins? I certainly do. Why not have a pumpkin decorating contest.
There are so many ways you can go about this.
You can have it be a race, or set a time limit. Carve, paint, or create sticker faces on the pumpkins.
Try some of these with your eyes closed, um maybe not the carving, and see how good you can do.
We like using this pumpkin carving kit.
The tools in here have been easy for my kids to use.
One year we did this contest using these Halloween stickers. There are lots of options to create many different festive faces.
These stickers are not messing around about sticking to the pumpkin. It was hard to peel them off when I wanted to use the pumpkins for pumpkin pie later.
Another year we painted the pumpkins with this acrylic paint.
This should only be done with kids that are a bit older since it is not washable. It is the paint that works the best though.
4. Water Wigglers
You know this game.
Every person has a partner. Start close together and toss it back and forth once. Take a step back, dip it in soapy water (or not if the kids are little), and toss it again.
I am partial to this soap myself.
You probably have some extra buckets or containers around to hold this soapy water, but if you don't here is a great option.
These are great since they collapse and store easily.
If someone drops it, that team is out. Keep taking a step back and tossing it until there is a winner.
We got these water wigglers to go with the whole Halloween theme.
5. Sack Races
Pick up these pumpkin-decorated bags and get your sack race on!
Older kids may bock at this game, I have known a few too. Once everyone gets in the spirit though, it is so much fun.
My best advice for those participating is to spread out and do it in the grass. We had quite the pileup one year, with tears.
6. Ring Toss
Ring toss is fun for young kids, but the older kids can play it too. Just have the older kids back up a bit.
This ring toss game is a hit with everyone.
I really like the fact that at the end of playing with this game, you can deflate it for compact storage.
7. Tin Can Alley Game
Any baseball or softball players in your crew? Tell them to warm up their arm for this tin can alley game.
Increase the level of difficulty with how far back they have to stand.
Now, to be honest, I could have made these myself. But by the time I would save up enough cans, wash them, and paint them, it is way easier for me to buy these.
Being a mom of 4 and running an in-home daycare, I do not have any extra time to spare!
8. Halloween Bingo
Looking for a game to calm everyone down for a bit? Try Halloween Bingo.
It comes with marking chips so you can use the boards over and over again.
I love bingo of any kind. You can feel the tension rising as the game goes on and on.
Prizes for the winners – candy of course!
9. Bean Bag Toss
This Halloween bean bag toss game is really cute and easy to play. We especially love the bean bags since they are in the shape of pumpkins.
I would save this game for the younger or more gentle crowd. Those with a stronger arm may break the game apart.
I hung this game up in my house so my kids and daycare kids could have a fun game to play for Halloween and stay warm doing it.
10. Pin the Tail on the Donkey
Here is a spin on a classic, Pin The Tail On The Donkey. The kids will love this game.
If you or someone you know is artistic and has some extra time, you can make this also!
I don’t know about you but I never like spinning little kids around and around, we usually skip this part.
The kids just put on the mask and steer them in the right direction.
11. Bend and Twist
Twister anyone? How about Halloween Twister? That is what this game is.
The bend and twist party game, found on Amazon, will keep the kids entertained for a bit.
It is an easy game so kids older than 10-12 may get bored after a while. With that being said, my 10-year-old love it since she had to work around her 3 younger brothers.
12. Halloween Costume Contest
If you are having a Halloween party, as guests arrive tell them they will be able to vote for their favorite costume after a while.
It will let them look around to find who they think dressed the best this Halloween.
After an hour or so into the party, open the voting for about ten minutes. They can either write down the person or the costume they loved the best.
When the voting time is up, tally the ballots, and announce the winner.
I love having a prize on hand for the best costume.
13. Rock Painting Kit
Since Halloween is all about things like stuff that glows, this glow-in-the-dark rock painting kit fits right in.
We were all able to paint 2 rocks. At the end of 30 minutes, we all stepped back and chose which Halloween rock we liked the best.
It was awesome to see all of these Halloween rocks glow in the dark also. This was my kids’ favorite part of the whole thing, seeing them glow.
Sometimes we have one person hide them, and then the rest of us go on a hunt.
14. Piñatas
You can end the gaming fun with a piñata or 2, all depending on how many kids are going to take a swing.
This Halloween piñata is so much fun.
This one is also super fun.
Make sure to fill it up with your favorite candy so you can snag a piece or 2! I love this candy.
I like having Halloween candy bags on hand for all the candy the kids collect.
They can also create their own bag with these materials: gift bags and stickers. It is a great activity to keep them busy for a while.
Don't Forget the Halloween Prizes!
Do you plan on playing these games at a Halloween party? If you are, don't forget about the prizes.
Here are a few of my favorites that I have given out in the past.
I start out with a candy bucket or candy bag.
Then I like to fill it with treats and other little festive items.
There are so many other items you could add for prizes but the ones above are what I have experience with.
Happy Halloween
