Best Christmas Party Activities For Teens

Secret Santa

Play the Secret Santa name exchange game. This is a fantastic way to save money since everyone will only be buying a gift for 1 friend instead of all of them.

Of course, encourage them to exchange names well ahead of time so they can all go shopping.

A great tip – ask all the girls to share a few items they would love to get.

Then at the Christmas party, they can all guess who gave which gift.

Christmas Costume Party

Ask the girls to come dressed as their favorite character from a Christmas movie.

Who would you choose? Let me know in the comments below.

Making Seasons Bright

Make this season bright by dressing up in neon.

Better yet, and a bit more festive, Christmas light-up accessories.

Ugly Christmas Sweaters

I have yet to meet a person who doesn’t think the ugly Christmas sweater theme is a hoot.

Holiday Photo Booth

Teen girls love taking photos and will love it even more with a holiday photo booth area.

Setting up a photo area is so easy.

Christmas foil fringe, along with festive Christmas lights, makes the perfect backdrop.

The girls will have the best time with these fun Christmas photo booth props.

Even though the girls will more than likely take a bunch of pictures with their phones, you have to get the Instax Camera.

Christmas Party Glasses

These Christmas party glasses are so much fun to wear during the whole party. They are fun in the photo booth, too.

My kids had the best time wearing these at our house and during a Christmas party with our friends last year.

Watch Christmas Movies

A Christmas movie marathon is great with snacks and some hot chocolate is always a hit.

Christmas Vacation

Elf

Prep and Landing (not just for kids!)

The Santa Clause

The Holiday

White Christmas

It’s a Wonderful Life

Make Christmas Treats

The girls can get their baking on by making a few Christmas goodies (and probably a mess but that will clean up).

Try these delicious Christmas treats.

Let’s be honest, though, some teen girls have short attention spans.

You can whip up these deliciously addictive Christmas Cut Out Cookies ahead of the party. The girls will enjoy decorating and eating them.

Make Christmas Party Food

My daughter and her friends love to make appetizers together.

Your daughter can make these easy and crowd pleasing appetizers ahead of time, too.

Sing Christmas Carols

Singing Christmas carols gets everyone into a holly jolly mood.

If anyone is blessed enough with the gift of playing the piano, get playing and sing those Christmas tunes.

Are they feeling bold and want to spread Christmas cheer? Tell them to go around and sing Christmas carols for your neighbors (especially the elderly).

What are your favorite Christmas songs? Let me know in the comments below.

Lip Sync Battle

Lip sync battles are fun to do and watch. Doing it with Christmas carols is even better.

Name That Tune

Not up for singing Christmas songs? Play name that Christmas tune instead.

Make Christmas Ornaments

Minute to Win It Game

The girls will have fun with these Minute to Win It Christmas games.

There are fantastic prize ideas at the very end that are great for all teen girls.

Candy Cane Hook

One Handed Gift Wrap

Pom Pom Snowball Fight

Christmas Tree Stack

Cookie Face

Christmas Trivia

Make a list of Christmas trivia questions. You do it so your teen can join in the fun.

There are a few options here.

It can be a page to fill out.

Or, it can be an out loud game.

Build Gingerbread Houses

Set up a gingerbread house making contest.

Girl, buying multiple gingerbread house kits can be expensive.

And what do you do with them at the end but throw them out? Seriously, they taste terrible. But if that is your jam, you do you!

If you are looking to save some money then try this instead.

Get graham crackers, containers of white frosting (and other colors if you are feeling spicy), and lots of different candy toppings to build the gingerbread houses.

The girls will have a blast and can eat their creations afterwards.

Gift Auction

Ask everyone to bring a wrapped gift.

You can set a price limit like we do.

Hand out play money for everyone to use to bid on the gifts.

You can get crazy and play a second round after all the gifts have been opened to try and “steal” gifts. Everyone should end up with one gift at the end.

Sleepover

If they want to fit in all these games and activities, a sleepover is a must.

Get ready for it - a bunch of loud, giggling, and sometimes screaming girls.  They will have the best time just hanging out with each other.

Let it happen, mama.

Christmas Pajamas

If a sleepover is part of this Christmas party, then the girls need to have a Christmas pajama party.

Christmas movies, snacks, hot chocolate, and cute pajamas – put it all together and it makes for a cozy Christmas party for your girl and her friends.

Christmas Scavenger Hunt

Create a list of Christmas items around your house that the girls need to find.  Some may be harder than others.

It doesn’t have to be just one of something either.  For example, you can have them search for 12 candy canes, 6 snowmen, 8 reindeer, and so on.

Or you can do a whole 12 Days of Christmas theme.

A great way to save some money here - print out pictures of everything instead of buying all of it!

Hot Chocolate Bar

Teens love hot chocolate bars.

You will need some cute Christmas mugs.

Feeling generous? Let the girls pick one out to take home.

Pick up these essential hot chocolate bar items: hot chocolate mix, marshmallows, whipped cream, and candy canes. Here are a few extras that are oh so good – coffee creamer and sauces like chocolate and caramel.

Get an extra of everything because sometimes, the girls can get crazy with the ingredients. Believe me, I know!

Bonfire

Have you ever had a bonfire in the snow? So much fun!

Take the hot chocolate outside. The combo of the bonfire and cocoa is the perfect way to stay warm.

Play in the Snow

Does it snow at your house?  Ask everyone to bring snow gear.

They might think they are too old for it but that isn’t true.

The girls can build a snowman, have a snowball fight, go sledding, or color the snow.

To color the snow, mix washable paint like this Crayola paint and warm water in a squirt bottle or spray bottle.

My kids still do this and it makes the snowy yard look amazing.

Games and Board Games

Board games are fantastic at parties.

Check out these fun games that work for 4 players or more (think teams here).

Pictionary

Catch Phrase

Scattergories

Bingo

Christmas Bingo

Christmas Pickle

The Christmas pickle is a fun tradition and game.

The gist is to hide a Christmas pickle ornament somewhere on your Christmas tree and then everyone else tries to find it.

The first person who finds it, without using their hands to move any of the branches, gets a small present.

Christmas Prizes and Gifts

What is your favorite holiday treat to make and/or eat? Let me know in the comments below.

Homemade Nut Goodies are tops for me. All the chocolatey goodness, yum!

I look forward to hearing from you and thanks for stopping by.
