Valentine’s Party For Kids
This party is mostly for your home and daycare. But there are some great ideas if you are a teacher and want to do this in your classroom.
Valentine's Party For Kids INVITATIONS
If you want to be extra fancy like I do when it comes to Valentine’s Day, send out invitations - like using snail mail.
These valentines party invitations are so festive and have the space for all of the information you need for your party.
I have had a valentine’s party with my kids, my daycare kids, and we have hosted a neighborhood party. I did invitations for all of them.
For our party, I put the invitations in our mailbox addressed to my kids. I went a bit overboard and decorated the envelopes with extra valentine themed stickers.
When we did our neighborhood party, we went for a walk and my kids put the invitations in our neighbor’s mailboxes.
Score on saving money with no stamps!
We asked everyone to wear as much pink, red, and white as possible. You know, dress for the occasion.
It was fun to have our neighbors get together to celebrate and let the kids play.
Valentine’s Party For Kids DECORATIONS
You can’t have a party without some decorations. It is completely up to you how few or many you want to use. You know you want to be pretty festive though.
If I am hosting a party, I love to put up a few more decorations than necessary. Kind of like a holiday explosion, haha.
I am all for making parties the most fun and memorable they can be for the kids.
These are the best valentines party decorations that I have found in the past.
One valentine’s day, I took my lipstick and drew hearts all over our bathroom mirror for when my kids woke up.
My husband rolled his eyes but my kids thought it was awesome and still talk about it.

Menu
You can be a total rockstar and provide all the food or you can ask your guests to help. Usually, I am more than happy to let people help with bringing food.
There are so many options for menu ideas. The ones below are great go-to options if you are short on time or don’t feel like coming up with one on your own.
Main Food
Pizza
Sandwiches – Sandwich Meat, Cheese Slices, Buns, Mayo, Mustard, Pickles
When I do sandwiches, I contact my local grocery store. They have a sandwich meat and cheese tray that I can order. All I have to do is swing in and pick it up. It is a great way to save yourself some time.
Snacks
Valentine’s Trail Mix – Pinterest has so many yummy recipes for this
Individual Bags of Chips – Everyone can pick their favorite. It is a bit more sanitary also, not everyone reaching in the same bag or dish to get chips.
Fruit – Melons, Grapes, and Berries go over really well
Vegetables – Carrots, Green Peppers, Snap Peas, Broccoli, and Cherry Tomatoes go over really well
Desserts
There are some festive additions you can get to take your desserts to the next level.
These are the most festive desserts that we have made or bought over the years for valentine’s day.
Heart-Shaped Cookies
Individual Cheesecake Cupcakes
Cupcakes
Brownies
Drinks
Coffee
Bottled Water – I usually go with the small bottles. With the regular-sized ones, I am always dumping them out at the end of the party because only part of it was drunk.
Juice Boxes
Small Gatorades
Adult Beverages
Dishes
Paper Plates – I would say go festive but I never trust the quality of those kinds of plates. I always go with these paper plates, cups, utensils, and napkins.

Activities
Depending on how many kids you have in mind for your party, you may want to consider an activity or 2. Otherwise in my experience, they can get kind of crazy!
Below are some great options.
Heart Hunt
Grab this package of paper hearts and hide them all over your house or classroom. Even in plain sight. All the kids will have so much fun trying to find them all.
There is already a hole punch in the hearts so you can hang them up if you want as well.
We did this on one valentine's day. We were only going to have the kids find them all one time for a prize.
They got so excited about it, that they formed teams and re-hid them for over an hour. It was fun for us parents to watch them go nuts about it.
Valentine Bingo
I have never seen anyone turn down the chance to play bingo, young or old.
This sweet Valentine Bingo version is easy and fun to play.
My kids came home from school raving about playing valentine bingo. I thought it was such a fun activity that I bought it so we could play it with my daycare kids.
Turns out they love playing just as much as my school-age kids. Since they are so young, everyone gets to win a small treat.
Decorate Valentine Hearts
These Valentine hearts are so fun for kids to put together. I even enjoyed making 1 or 2.
There are so many pieces that come with this set, perfect for your party.
If you want to go the extra mile, get these self adhesive magnets for the kids to put on the back of their hearts.
The kids will be excited to take them home and put them on their refrigerator.
My kids loved putting these together. Since I got them just for us, we dumped all of the hearts on the table and mixed and matched them to create our own heart looks.
It was a great way to pass some time on a snowy Saturday afternoon.
Decorate Valentine’s Day Ornaments
This kit comes with 24 sets of valentine ornaments. It is perfect for a classroom or at-home party.
These turned out to be so cute. I got them for my daughter to hand out while she was in 2nd grade as a valentine's treat at her classroom party instead of candy.
I got great feedback from her friends’ moms that their kids loved putting them together.
We had a few leftovers, so she got to make one also.

Some yummy chocolate heart treats, or any other valentine candy, are perfect as party favors. Kids love candy!
You may as well grab an extra bag while you are at it. If you are anything like me, you know you are going to want some chocolate too!
Keychains
I see keychains on so many backpacks these days. You won’t go wrong giving out this little cutie keychain as a party favor or prize for winning a game.
All of my kids have at least 3 keychains on their backpacks right now. I went and checked .
Valentine Goodie Bags
Amazon has prepackaged valentine's goodie bags so you don't have to spend time preparing them. These work great for boys and girls about 2nd grade and younger.
If the kids you are gifting are older than 8, they may like these party favors better. Especially the boys.
Party Favor Supply Set
Here are 120+ pieces of valentine's fun that you can split up and create your own goodie bags with.
Your kids will have so much fun checking out everything.
If you go with this set, don’t forget to buy some festive goodie bags.
My boys loved the airplanes. My daughter loved the stamps. They all couldn't get enough of the heart-shaped glasses.
