MORE FOR YOU TO ENJOY
1. Make Cards
Bust out all those crafting supplies and let your kiddos go to town on making Valentine’s Day cards.
They can make them for their classmates, lunchroom workers, parents, siblings, and nursing home residents. And they may even make one for you.
As much as I love getting all the homemade gifts from my kids, I love that they could make some for the nursing home. We did it 2 years ago with my oldest daughter’s girl scout troop and it was such a heartwarming hit!
2. Valentine Bingo
Kids go bananas when they get to play Bingo.
I know these cards come with little markers to cover the spaces but to make it a bit more fun you can hand out Conversation Hearts or festive colored m&m’s.
3. Paper Fortune Tellers
These fortune tellers are also a grand slam activity for kids.
You may have to help fold them if your kiddos are younger.
They will want to spend quite a bit of time trying them out with all of their friends.
And this is a great activity that they all can take home and do with their families.
4. Heart Scratch Art
Scratch art is such a hit, and yep, I love it too.
These heart-shaped ones are perfect for Valentine’s Day.
They come with a ribbon which can either be tied on in a cute bow or used to make this heart become a hanging decoration.
If you want to go for a cheaper option, go for this package of rectangle scratch art.
Each of your kiddos could have multiple sheets of it.
More bang for your buck, and I am all about that.
5. Scavenger Hunt
I created a heart scavenger hunt for my kids and daycare kids and they couldn’t get enough.
To take up some time, I had my older kids cut out about 100 hearts of different sizes the week before Valentine’s Day.
But you can save yourself that time and effort with these premade hearts, they are pretty cheap.
This package has 200 hearts, so get hiding them all over the place.
Trust me on this one, this is such a blast for them that they will want to do it multiple times.
6. Valentine's Ornaments
Your kids are going to have so much fun putting together these festive Valentine's ornaments? I just love them!
This craft kit comes with everything your kiddos need to create 24 different ornaments.
The ornaments become fish, caterpillars, llamas, and more.
7. Coloring Pictures
Having your kiddos color is a great time filler. And if you are anything like me, you get most of your color sheets from Google Images or Pinterest.
They are all adorable so you can’t go wrong.
8. I Spy Valentine's Day
Just like the Valentine's Day coloring pages, you can find I Spy Valentine's Day printable on Google Images.
That is where I like to print them from anyway.
These are just for older kids either. I am sure you are well aware of how observant young kids are.
9. Valentine Picture Frame
Have your kiddos create a festive picture frame for someone at home that they love.
This activity takes a little preplanning but your kids are going to have so much fun with it.
Take an individual picture of each of them. Maybe they are blowing a kiss, holding a heart, or they have on silly glasses.
On Valentine’s Day, let them design their picture frame and add the picture.
10. Cereal Necklace
Do you have some red, pink, purple, or white yarn? How about some cereal like Fruit Loops, Apple Jacks, or Cheerios?
Then you can create this easy craft and your kids will get a snack out of it.
Some of my kids have done this for Valentine’s Day and the 100th day of school and loved it so much.
11. Pancake Breakfast
Girl, I did not come up with this idea but the 2nd grade teachers put this on for their classes every Valentine’s Day and it is something that is more than looked forward to by the younger grades.
My 3rd kiddo is in 2nd grade this year and he is excited that it is his turn.
The teachers ask parents to help donate the materials to put this breakfast on. They ask for things like pancake mix, syrup, sausage links, butter, and so on.
The teachers whip up all the pancakes right in the classroom.
It takes some effort but I know your class is going to love it.
12. Heart Wreath
Help your kiddos make a heart wreath that they will be able to take home and hang up.
Cut the center of a paper plate out, I like these best.
After that, you have a few options for decorating. Your kiddos can cut out their own hearts, you can use premade hearts, or they can even glue on small squares of tissue paper.
Do what you think might be easiest for your students.
13. Valentine's Day Crafts
There are so many amazing Valentine’s Day crafts to choose from on Pinterest.

14. Conversation Heart Door
First off, if your kids do NOT know what conversation hearts are, give them a quick lesson about them.
Then have each of them cut out a heart or 2 from construction paper.
What is your method for making a great heart from paper? I like to fold my paper in half, draw half the heart, and cut it out. Let me know yours in the comments below.
Next, they can write a quick little note on their heart with Crayola markers.
Finally, have them hang up their hearts on your classroom door.
15. Frost Sugar Cookies
Turn a yummy treat of cookies into an activity.
If your local grocery store bakes cookies as mine does, ask them if they could make some unfrosted heart-shaped cut-out cookies for you, or maybe cupcakes if you prefer those.
I would get a few extra if I were, you know, in case some get broken in transit.
Grab some frosting, plastic knives, and sprinkles, and let your kids go to town.
16. Valentine's Day Books
With all the fun of the day, don’t forget to add in some festive learning.
These Valentine-themed books are a hit with kids who are mostly 7 and under.
The Berenstain Bears' Valentine Blessings
Harvey The Heart Had Too Many Farts
17. Slime
And last but certainly not least, you have to include some Valentine's Slime!
I mean, can you tell me of a kiddo you know that doesn't get a kick out of playing with slime because I sure can't?
There are a ton of Valentine’s Day slime recipes on Pinterest.
Let me know in the comments below if you find a good recipe.
I ran out of time when I thought to do this activity, so we went with some less festive premade slime.
My kids and daycare kids still had a blast with it.
