MORE FOR YOU TO ENJOY
Happy Mother’s Day Girl!
Yep, I see you! Being a mom can be so exhausting but also rewarding at the same time.
I am so proud of all the hard work you do day in and day out. Keep it up!
Before we dive into all of these fantastic Mother's Day activities, I am curious to know what gift you want for Mother's Day.
I have my eye on this digital picture frame. Our previous one finally bit the dust.
But this picture frame looks amazing.
It has internal storage and you can load pictures by email and through an app.
1. Go to the Greenhouse
Visiting a greenhouse is the perfect way to spend time with your mom on Mother's Day. The best part is you don't even have to be a gardener to do it.
My mom loves gardening, and my grandmother does too. Growing up, my mom had a huge vegetable garden to help feed all 8 of us kids, yes 8! On top of that, her yard has beautiful flowers everywhere.
So, going to the greenhouse with her is a no-brainer.
However, while she is a Rockstar garden I am not.
I always have to get the hardiest flowers that take a bad storm or pesky critters to kill them. Don’t get me wrong though, I do love them!
2. Meet up With Friends
Oh yes, meeting up with friends should be right at the top of your list if you are looking for Mother's Day activities for adults.
I don't know about you but after I get done hanging out with my friends, I am in such a great mood.
You can easily do anything else on this list with your girls.
3. Go out to Eat
Grab some yummy Mother’s Day brunch at your favorite restaurant.
Whew, have you checked the prices of Mother's Day meals at restaurants these days? It is too much for my wallet if my husband wanted to take all 6 of us out.
On the other hand, if you are only paying for one or 2 it isn't so bad.
4. See a Movie
There always seems to be a good movie or 2 out near Mother’s Day. I think the movie industry is getting ready for those summer blockbusters!
Why not splurge and go to one of those movie theaters where you can order food and it is brought to your chair?
I haven’t been to one of those yet but I do want to try it out.
Let me know in the comments below if you have tried it and what movie you saw.
5. Go to the Theater
Do you love going to live theater? Book tickets to see a show with your favorite gal pal or mom.
The best show that I have seen yet is Singing in the Rain. They had it rain in the theater. So amazing!
6. Go Bowling
Go out for lunch and bowling.
Bowling can be a blast with the right people.
And no worries if you aren’t that great. It’s all for fun!
7. Yoga
Take a yoga class with your gal pals. It can be a great way to relax and get movement at the same time.
Well, maybe not if you take one of those "hot yoga" classes. Then you can both be a sweaty mess together.
Let me know in the comments below if you have tried that class out.
My yoga studio just started offering them and I am intrigued to try them.
8. Ice Skating
Even though it is spring, you can still go ice skating.
The college in the next town over has open skating on Sundays and you can rent skates for a couple of bucks.
9. Rock Climbing
That same college that has ice skating has indoor rock climbing as well.
Challenge your friends to see who can climb to the top the fastest or who can get to the top by only using certain colors of holds.
My daughter just did this and it was a blast. The next day she said her muscles were a bit tired, ha!
10. Visit a State Park
If you are new to state parks, let me tell you, they are closer to you than you think.
State parks offer an amazing chance to enjoy nature and fresh air. So go for a hike and see what animals you can find or if the water is running from all that snow melting.
Make sure to wear older Tennis Shoes or boots though. Some of the trails may be muddy since it is springtime.
11. Have a Picnic
Hopefully, your Mother's Day has beautiful weather so you can have a picnic.
My favorite place to have a picnic with my girlfriends is at this cute winery that serves food too.
Okay, I know it’s not your traditional sit-on-the-ground picnic but I am not sure my body can take sitting on the ground that long with the way my friends and I get chatting.
12. Go Shopping
Whether it is window shopping or you are on a mission shopping, there is nothing like a little retail therapy with friends.
Can you remember when you used to go shopping for fun with your friends before kids? Oh, that is reaching back for me. But what a blast it was!
Which store is your favorite for buying tops? Let me know in the comments below.
13. Mini Golfing
Mini golfing is not your normal Mother's Day activity but it is still so much fun.
Good news, if the weather isn’t great there are indoor mini golf courses these days. Although, I do prefer the outdoor ones.
14. Casino
One year a bunch of us ditched our kids for the afternoon on Mother's Day and went to a nearby casino.
I am not much of a casino girl but I had a great time hanging out with all the girls.
15. Go to a Professional Sports Game
Baseball should be in full swing . If it is your game then you should grab some tickets and head on over to the park.
I am not a huge baseball fan but I have been to my fair share of pro games and they were all memorable.
16. Bike Ride
There are biking trails everywhere these days. And there are so many places where you can rent bikes.
If biking is your thing, get out there.
I like going on trails that go through some nature areas the most.
Let me know in the comments below: if you go on a bike ride, are you on a mission to get there fast or go more at a medium pace?
I like the medium pace; it gives me a chance to look around a bit.
17. Spa
Go get pampered girl!
What is your favorite way to get pampered at a spa: manicure, pedicure, or do you go for a massage?
I don’t know what it is but I just love when I get a pedicure.
18. Go for a Boat Cruise
If you haven't gone on a boat cruise before, then this is a must!
We live near a river and there are boat cruises all over the place.
Some are just tours and some are tours with food. Both have adult drinks though.
There is just something relaxing about being on the water!
19. Go Away For the Weekend
Girls’ weekend! Oh yeah, baby!
Well worth every penny.
Need I say more?
If you are booking this, pick a hotel that is hopefully within walking distance of any activities you want to try. It saves on parking and lets everyone have adult beverages if they want to.
