MORE FOR YOU TO ENJOY
1. Your Time
Nothing, and I mean nothing, is more precious and valued in this life than giving someone your time.
Spend the day with your dad and do whatever fun activities he wants to do. If he doesn’t have any ideas, why not try a board game or a few?
I have a large immediate family. Christmas is crazy with 35 siblings, spouses, kids, kids, and more kids running around. The adults always play board games and it is a blast. I can’t recommend it enough.
Our favorite large group board games are Catch Phrase and Pictionary.
If it is a light crowd, Ticket to Ride and Cards win.
2. Father's Day Card
I don’t live that close to my dad, so a Father’s Day card is the perfect gift for me to send. You just have to remember to send it on time though, am I right?
Don’t be lame and just sign your name. Go the extra mile and always write a heartfelt message in it.
The card alone will get you a long way but if you want to go the extra mile, put some money or a gift card inside it.
3. Gift Cards
What are your dad’s hobbies? Why not get him a gift card to match?
Does he like hunting and fishing? Try a Cabela's gift card.
How about tools – Home Depot?
Is he into sports? A Scheels gift card will do the trick.
Does he like to try out new restaurants or have a favorite? A restaurant gift card will be perfect then.
And if all else fails but you still want to send him a gift card, go with a Visa Gift Card. He can spend that anywhere.
Now peeps, be sure to read the fine print when getting a gift card activated. I ended up paying $7 extra once for an activation fee and didn’t realize it until I got home since I was in a hurry.
4. Lottery Tickets
Sometimes adding a few lottery tickets inside the card can be more entertaining than gift cards and money.
I used to do this for Christmas at my previous job and my coworkers had a blast with it.
The most money anyone won was $10. But it was $10 they didn’t have before and they didn’t have to buy the ticket.
5. Make Him Food
Have you ever heard the phrase a way to a man’s heart is through his stomach? Yep, get in your kitchen (or his) and whip him up something to eat.
You can make your dad breakfast, brunch, lunch, supper, or dessert. There are so many opportunities here!
My dad loves a fantastic lunch/supper so I would go that route with him. But I know my husband can’t turn down an over-the-top breakfast or a good dessert and I would have to agree. I wouldn’t have to eat the rest of the day with all those fantastic breakfast foods – YUM!
If you are going to make him some food, don’t take the easy way out and buy something. It won’t have as much meaning behind it☹.
6. Take Him Out to Eat
I know that making food is not for everyone and if this sounds like you, why not take your dad out to eat at his favorite restaurant instead?
You and I both know that he has paid that check for you plenty of times so make sure you swoop in to get it before he does.
Even if you can cook, what is the one thing that never seems to turn out right for you? Let me know in the comments below.
I can never seem to make a burger the way it should be. So, if you have any tips, I would love to hear them!
7. Favorite Snacks and Drink
Swing by the grocery store to pick up his favorite drink and/or snack. Just the fact that you know what your dad’s favorite drink and snack are will make him smile.
I have done this gift idea to a bunch of people and everyone loved it. My kids do this for my husband for his birthday, Father’s Day, and Christmas – Dr. Pepper and Pistachios.
8. Essentials Kit
I just love giving a gift that is full of items that I know will be used. And I am sure your dad is the type of person who likes getting those gifts.
Take a quick trip down the toiletry aisle and stock up on his favorite products.
You can include items like shave cream and razor blades, body soap, shampoo and conditioner, toothpaste, toothbrushes, and more.
I know it is not the most glam gift but he is going to love the restock of his favorite products.
9. Cologne
As long as I can remember, my dad has always put cologne on for everything.
My husband on the other hand is a cologne is for special occasions kind of guy like date night or church.
Either way, cologne makes a great gift.
10. See a Movie
June is the perfect time to take your dad to a movie. Summer is full of movie blockbusters and there always seems to be something out for dads on Father’s Day.
If there isn’t a movie that your dad wants to see, why not consider giving him an actual movie? A what? Yes, you heard me. An actual DVD or Blue Ray.
I haven’t met a guy that would turn down a copy of Top Gun, Maverick.
11. Yeti Tumbler
Do you know who loves a good Yeti tumbler mug? Everyone that’s who, and that includes your dad.
But do you know who loves to buy them? You got it right again – no one, because they are expensive.
So, your dad is going to love it if you show up with one for him.
I have to admit, I love these mugs and have 3 of them. But I got lucky and they were all gifts.
If I had to buy them, I would for sure only have 1. Well, maybe 2. I use them every single day for my coffee!
12. Wallet
What I have come to learn about guys and wallets is that most guys use them until they are practically falling apart. Does this sound like your dad?
My kids and I are getting my husband a wallet for Father’s Day this year.
He likes this kind because it is slender and nothing falls out of it. You see, he likes to put his wallet in his front pants pocket so it has to be slender.
This post was all about the top last-minute Father's Day gift ideas.
Let me know in the comments below your favorite memory with your dad!
I look forward to hearing from you and thanks for stopping by.
