This compass is what we got our oldest son for his First Communion. I couldn't be happier with how it turned out.
He loves being out in nature and exploring, so, a compass is right up his alley.
You can get it engraved, so we put "May your faith always guide you." It is so fitting for the occasion.
2. Gift of Money
Maybe you ran out of time or want to make it easy on yourself (that is me from time to time too!), then give him a card with some money inside.
When have you ever heard a kiddo being sad about getting money? Um, that would be never!

My daughter got this book - Catechism of the 7 Sacraments as a Frist Communion book and all of my boys (who are younger than her) flocked to it.
Boys love it because there are Lego figures in it.

As your son grows in age and faith, having small prayer books like this one will help him continue to grow and stay better connected to God.
My neighbor brought this book over for my boys and it is so good.

Along with the prayer book, my neighbor gifted this picture frame to my oldest son.
It can be customized just for your son and looks great on a shelf.

Your son can hang this wooden cross in his bedroom.
Maybe it will remind him to say his prayers.
