Halloween Birthday Party Invitations

The best time to have this birthday party is 1 to 2 weeks before Halloween.
Check out these Halloween birthday party invites. They are so good.
Send them out 3 to 4 weeks before your party date. Everyone seems to have full calendars these days.
What would a kid's Halloween birthday party be without Halloween costumes?
Not as cool as it could be, that’s what! On the invite, encourage your guests to wear their costumes!
Halloween Birthday Party Themes
You don’t have to narrow it down to just one theme since Halloween has a great variety of decorations already. However, if you want to, here are a few dynamite theme ideas that the kids will have fun with.
Haunted House – you can get spooky with music, cobwebs, fog machines, and things to make the kids jump.
Glow In The Dark – Set out a bunch of glow in the dark necklaces, bracelets, rings, and more. Put on the blacklights. You can ask everyone to wear glow in the dark costumes.
Monster Mash- Play spooky dance party music and have a costume contest.
Superhero – Ask your guests to come dressed as their favorite superhero.
Willy Wonka – It is all about the decorations with this theme. How fun to decorate your place as a chocolate factory!
Pirates – You can’t go wrong with the pirate theme. It is a Halloween classic costume.
Carnival – Include lots of activities, there are lots of ideas below. You can use Halloween treats as prizes.
Halloween Birthday Party Supplies
Don’t forget these essential party supplies.
I did that once and it sent me scrambling! Thankfully, someone offered to run to the store for me.
Halloween Photo Booth

The 1st thing you should set up at your party is a photo booth area.
Don't miss this opportunity to take pictures of everyone in their costumes.
A few years ago we made these Charlie Brown and the Great Pumpkin cutouts and all our guests were nuts over them.
If you aren’t feeling that crafty, these foil curtains, balloons, and Halloween lights will do the trick.

Halloween Birthday Party Decorations
Let’s move on to Halloween decorations, shall we?
You can keep it simple and budget-friendly with these decorations.
However, if you want to take it up a notch (while keeping it budget-friendly), check out these Halloween decorations too.
Kids Halloween Party Games and Activities
You need to have some Halloween activities set up for the kids and a few in your pocket, you know – it is always good to be extra prepared.
At parties we have hosted, there have been kids ranging in attention spans. Keeping the kids moving will keep them out of trouble!
Decorate a Treat Bag
To keep kids busy at arrival time, have them decorate a Halloween treat bag.
Set out treat bags, Halloween stickers, and Crayola washable markers, and let them get creative.
Costume Contest
Since it is a Halloween birthday party, I can only assume the kids will be wearing their costumes. Have a costume contest!
You can have prizes for the most creative, funniest, and even scariest.
Decorate Pumpkins

Come on now, what would Halloween be without some pumpkin decorating?
Grab some small to medium pumpkins from your favorite local farmer.
For a party like this, I highly recommend decorating the pumpkins with stickers (so you don’t have to sit and finish everyone’s pumpkins).
These stickers are the ones you need. They don't slide off after being left outside either.
You can also have the kids paint the pumpkins.
I have used these paint pens on pumpkins and they are amazing. These do not take long to dry at all.
Bouncy House
I cannot recommend having a bounce house enough. The kids will be in it for most of your party!
You can buy one like this, or rent one like we usually do!
This is well worth the money!
Face Painting

Ask your favorite adult artist to be a face painter for your party. Kids line up to get their faces painted.
I have used this face paint so many times and it is amazing.
It washes off with soap and water, except the red. Use a little makeup remover for that and it comes right off.
Halloween Tattoos
These Halloween temporary tattoos are so much fun for kids. They are so festive and they glow in the dark.
Ask a parent or friend to help put these on the kiddos.
Balloon Prize Pop
Blow up orange balloons and tape them to the wall in the shape of a giant pumpkin. You can use a few black balloons to turn it into a jack-o-lantern if you like.
Before you tie each balloon, add a slip of paper with the numbers 1, 2, or 3 on it. These numbers line up with prize bins.
Have the kiddos pop a balloon either with a pin, or they could sit or step on it too, and whichever number was inside the balloon, that is the number of the prize bin they get to pick from.
Mummy Wrap
Buy some cheap toilet paper for this fun mummy wrap game.
Have teams of 3 – 4 members. Tell them to pick a member to become the mummy.
Then, teams wrap the mummy in toilet paper as quickly as possible or set a time limit.
Pinata

Kids love piñatas, need I say more?!
If you have over 10 kids, you may want to get 2 of them!
Cup Punch
We just did this cup punch game at a party and it was such a hit.
If you feel like you have the time, you can easily make one with a cardboard box or 2, tissue paper, and treats to fill the cups.
It is time-consuming to make your own though and you may want to spend that time making delicious Halloween cookies, which you will learn about below.
If that is the case, then you can buy a premade cup punch game.
Scavenger Hunt
Do you go crazy about putting up decorations, like I do? Then, a scavenger hunt is a perfect activity for the kids to do.
You can learn how to easily put a Halloween scavenger hunt together right here.
Halloween Bingo
The kids will love playing Halloween bingo, especially if there are prizes.
Halloween Games
Do you feel like you need a few more options to keep your kids entertained? Check out these fun Halloween party games.
These mostly work for kids 10 and under but my daughter and her friends always join in and they are 12 and 13.
Halloween Food
The next thing you need to think about is what food to serve. Every party needs lots of yummy food!

Sugar cookies were never my thing until I tried these – so delicious and worth the effort! We make these for so many holidays and special occasions throughout the year.
The Best Sugar Cutout Cookie Recipe
Ingredients
2 Cups Butter
1 Package Cream Cheese, softened
2 Cups White Sugar
2 Egg Yolks
1 tsp Vanilla
4 ½ Cups All-Purpose Flour (I go with 5 cups of flour right from the start and then I don’t have to add so much after it is chilled)
Butter Cream Frosting
3 ½ Cups Powdered Sugar, divided
4 TBLS Butter, softened
½ tsp Vanilla
3-4 TBLS Milk
Halloween Sprinkles
Directions
Cream Butter and Cream Cheese until light and fluffy. Add Sugar, Egg Yolk, and Vanilla. Mix Well. Gradually add Flour and mix.
Cover and chill for 2 hours (or overnight).
Roll out to ¼ inch thickness using a half-and-half mix of flower and powdered sugar to coat your work surface.
Cut into shapes.
Bake for 10 minutes at 350°F. Cool on the pan for about 2 minutes and then move to a cooking rack.
Frosting the Cookies
After the cookies have cooled completely, whip up all the ingredients for the frosting with a hand or stand mixer and get decorating.
You can also let the kids decorate cookies as an activity.
How to End Your Party

A great way to end your party is with a festive kid-friendly movie.
My ultimate favorite is It’s the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown 😊.
This movie projector lets you take the movie outside or in your garage and the kids will love it!
