So, I have to stay organized and I have my kids and daycare kids help me stay organized also.
Not only do I have daycare cubbies, but I also have toy storage bins and a nice big built-in shelving unit in my daycare living room.
The top of it is a great place to keep all the kids' books, you know, out of the hands of page-ripping toddlers, and the bottom is for big toys and bins of smaller toys.

Daycare cubbies will help you and your daycare kids stay very organized. No more missing items because they were all thrown in a heap.
The more you can stay organized while running your daycare the better. Trust me on this one, friend!
Also, when using cubbies for personal items, it helps cut down on the transfer of germs. Let's be real though, your daycare kids are going to be in each other's faces and personal space so the transfer of germs is crazy!
But anything you can do to minimize the spread of germs is helpful.
Having cubbies will also teach your kiddos responsibility. You can easily have each kiddo put their items away as young as 1 year old.
It is never to early to start teaching kids to pick up after themselves. And they want to be helpful, so why not.
Who Should Have Daycare Cubbies
Every single daycare should have at least 1 set of daycare cubbies. This includes both home daycares and daycare centers.
2 of my kids went to a daycare center for a short bit before I started my home daycare and they had a variety of cubbies everywhere there. And you know what, it was crazy helpful!
If you have space for more than 1 set, do it. I can’t stress this enough: the more organized you can be as a daycare provider, the easier your days will flow.
I do not have space for more than 1 cubby organizer but if I did I would have them everywhere.
They are so helpful you guys! Instead, I am in no short supply of bins for toys.

This is the cubby organizer that I have. It has 6 cubes and has been a rockstar ever since I got it 8 years ago.
When I first put it together, I was like oh man, this thing isn’t going to last. But honestly you guys, it is in such good condition and it has been used every day.
The reason I got this storage organizer is that it fits in the closet the best where my daycare kids put all their personal items.
I did have to get these fabric drawers to go with it and they have stood the test of time! We haven’t had to replace a single one.
These command hooks are also up in my closet for the kids’ backpacks and coats.
I cringed at getting them just because of how much they cost a piece, but you guys, they are worth every penny. They have been up for over 2 years now!
Name Tags For Daycare Cubbies
To help the kiddos learn their name and to know which cubby belongs to them, add name tags.
On the cubby organizer that I use, we went with these foam stickers for the name tags. They stay on for a fairly long time.
Eventually, we had to replace them, I mean stickers can only stick well to fabric for so long.
These name tag stickers work well also on fabric cubbies, and they are so colorful.
I also love these label holders.
They are clear little pockets that easily stick right to shelves. What I like is that you can change out the labels inside as often as you need to.
These are a recent find of mine but so far so good. They are labeling all of our toy bins, even the see-through ones. I have been trying to label everything to help the kiddos with letter and word recognition.
