MORE FOR YOU TO ENJOY
1. Snacks
Do you find that your 9 year old always wants a snack?
Mine does too and that is why I add a few snacks to his Easter basket.
You can add in his favorites or check out a snack pack like this on Amazon.
2. Books
I love adding books to every gift for my kids. As they get older, their tastes change and if you want them to continue to be interested in reading then you have to change up their library.
We just discovered these books – Dog Diaries – and my 9 year old can’t get enough. And girl, he is 1 tough nut to crack when it comes to reading.
They are funny and engaging and honestly, all my kids love these books.
3. Legos
I haven’t met a boy yet who doesn't like to play with Legos.
If you aren’t sure what set he would be into, don’t sweat it. Go with the classic Legos because he will get way more use out of them anyway.
4. T-Shirt
There are so many different fun character shirts for boys right now and your son would love to get one from you.
My boys all love Super Mario and I know they will wear them over and over again.
5. Sunglasses
Did your son grow just like mine did? Yep, he even grew right out of his sunglasses.
Since he is obsessed with Top Gun, I got him these Aviator sunglasses for his last birthday and they have been amazing.
6. Swim Gear
And speaking of growing, I bet he needed new swim gear.
Hook him up with new swim shorts, a swim shirt (these are amazing – no sunburn), and swim shoes which are essential if you swim anywhere except a pool.
7. Water Football
If you have a place to use a water football then I highly recommend you get one for your son.
We were able to play with this water football all last summer and my son is very much looking forward to using it again this summer.
8. Crocs
Just like the rest of him, I am sure your son's feet grew too. Gosh, can they just slow down a bit?!
If your son hasn't tried Crocs, he will love them. They are easy and comfortable.
My son loves wearing Crocs everywhere he can.
9. Baseball Hat
Does your son have a favorite pro sports team? Get him a baseball-style hat to match it.
We hardly ever leave the house without my son grabbing one of his hats.
10. Joke Book
Your 9 year old will be laughing through this whole joke book.
I have heard the whole thing and some of the jokes are pretty funny.
11. Paper Airplanes
These paper airplanes are fun to make and even more fun to fly.
My boys like to have contests to see which one can go the farthest.
12. Games
Small games like Tenzi Dice Game, Kanoodle Puzzle Game, and a Rubik's Cube or Rubik's Pyramid will fit great in your son's Easter basket.
We are a game-playing family and have over 60 games the last time I counted including Sorry, Battleship, and Pokémon Battle Academy, which will be amazing for your son.
The grandmas (bless them) got a little game crazy as gifts over the past few years.
13. Football
Whether your son plays football competitively or not, he is going to love throwing this football around in your yard.
He will love this Nerf Blitz football since you never have to pump it up and it seems to be a great size for a 9 year old to throw and catch.
Word to the wise though – it is not for water!
14. Water Bottle
You can never go wrong with a good water bottle.
We have a few Hydro Flask water bottles and they are worth the hype.
15. Binoculars
He is going to love exploring anything and everything a bit closer with a new set of binoculars.
Don’t think you have to get a crazy good set of them. These will work just fine until he is older.
16. Slime Kit
You can get these festive slime-filled eggs or get the slime kit. Either way, he is going to have a blast.
I like the slime kit better since it is an activity to keep him busy for longer.
17. Remote Control Car
He will have to best time driving this remote control car all over the place.
I like that it has rechargeable batteries and my son likes that he can drive it inside and outside.
18. Pokémon
Is your son a Pokémon fanatic? Then a package or 2 of Pokémon cards is a no-brainer.
Get him a binder to keep them all so they aren’t lying all over your house. We have this small binder - holds 4 cards per page and this large binder - holds 9 cards per page. They both zip all the way around so no cards can escape.
This Pokémon Handbook is also a must.
He will love it for all the characters and facts.
You will love it because it will help you pronounce so many Pokémon character names!!!
19. Sports Cards
But if he is into sports instead, no problem. Get him sports cards.
One of my friends has been into sports cards since we were around 10 years old and he says the Panini cards are the best.
Once again, pair it with a small binder - holds 4 cards per page or a large binder - holds 9 cards per page.
20. Army Men
Is your son interested in the military like my 9 year old is? Bingo – Army Men.
They are small which makes them the perfect size for an Easter Basket.
21. Nerf Guns
Oh, baby, he is going to go bananas if you add a Nerf Gun to his Easter basket. And Mama, one Nerf gun is NOT enough!
We have a variety of Nerf guns and they all get used. Sometimes there is an all-out battle attack in our basement.
Call me crazy but I make everyone wear safety glasses when they play with these.
22. Laser Tag
If you are looking for something that won’t leave little treasures all over the place, ahem Nerf darts, then check out Laser Tag.
This is something that your son will be able to play with for years to come.
My brother had a laser tag battle at his high school graduation party with his buddies in the dark and they all agreed it was the best grad party they ever attended.
23. Walkie Talkies
To help him play laser tag, pick up a pair of these walkie talkies.
I know that they are Man Walkie Talkies but these are the best.
Don’t waste your money on a cheaper pair only to end up buying these like I did.
24. Fishing Gear
Finally, if you are a family that likes to fish, get him a tackle box.
If he already has a tackle box, get him some tackle (you can never have enough tackle). Here are some great freshwater spoon lures and bass frogs.
Fishing gear is expensive and that is why it makes for a great gift. You can slowly build up his stock over time.
This post is all about the best Easter basket ideas for 9 year old boy.
