Kitchen Supplies
Before we jump into this delicious recipe, let’s go over the kitchen supplies you will need to make this egg bake happen.
Easy Egg Bake Recipe
Ingredients
- 10 - 12 Eggs (I like to go with 12 usually)
- 1 Tube of Pillsbury Crescent Rolls
- 1 Cup of Milk
- 2 Cups Shredded Cheddar Cheese
- 1 pound of Pork Sausage (Italian is a hit here)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F.
- Brown the pork sausage on medium to medium-low in a pan on your stove until it is no longer pink. Break the pork sausage into small pieces. Drain as much grease as you can.
- While the pork sausage is cooking, spray your 9x13 baking dish with nonstick cooking spray.
- Open the Pillsbury Crescent Roll tube, unroll them but keep them connected, and place the rolls in the bottom of your baking dish.
- Next, sprinkle your shredded cheese on the crescent roll dough. Spread it out as evenly as possible.
- Then, add your browned pork sausage crumbles over the cheese. Again, spread it out as evenly as possible.
- Crack all of your eggs into your mixing bowl. Add the milk to the mixing bowl and whisk until the eggs and milk are thoroughly combined. It should be light yellow and a little frothy.
- Pour this egg/milk mixture into your baking dish.
- Place in your oven and bake for 25 – 30 minutes.
- You will know when it is done when the egg mixture is set if you slightly jiggle the baking dish.
- Cool for about 5 minutes before serving.
- Store covered in the refrigerator for about 1 week (if it lasts that long, it never does here).
Helpful Tips
- This egg bake can be stored covered in your refrigerator and lasts you all week for breakfast which makes it an easy on-the-go breakfast. All you need to do is heat it in the microwave.
- If you don’t like the Crescent Roll bottom, you can make this egg bake with your favorite kind of frozen hash browns. A ½ inch of frozen hash browns in the bottom of your baking dish will do the trick.
- I use whichever kind of milk we have in our house at the time, which is usually 2%. However, I have used anything from skim to whole milk and it all works.
- Our favorite flavor of cheese to use is Cheddar but you can experiment and use whatever cheese you like best.
- When it comes to meat, you don’t have to use pork sausage. You can try bacon, ham, ground beef, chicken, or you can even leave it out if you want.
- Even though this is a basic egg bake recipe, feel free to add in vegetables. Some great options include onions, tomatoes, peppers, spinach, and broccoli.
- Spice it up to your liking by adding salt, pepper, garlic, and maybe some hot sauce after it comes out of the oven.
