Best Gifts For Toddler Boys
Just to be clear, when I talk about the toddler age, I am talking about 1 – 4 year olds.
That doesn’t mean that these gifts are only good until your little guy turns 5.
Oh no, my boys are 5, 7, and 9, and they still play with all of these items.
Also, my daycare boys are an extension of my family so if I say my boys, it includes my 3 boys and my daycare boys too.

Toys
1. Cars
It was such a toss-up as to what my boys play with the absolute most – Hot Wheels cars or the Magna tiles.
And you know what, I think it is a tie. You can't go wrong with either of them.
With 3 boys, we have so many cars and they can’t get enough.
2. Magna Tiles
These magnetic tiles are amazing and can be used in so many ways. We have 3 sets now and they are worth every penny.
Don’t cheap out on these, you will be disappointed. I am talking from experience here.
3. Toy Figures
Toddler boys love playing with these tv toy figures.
My boys love Paw Patrol the most and my daycare boys love Bluey.
Both of these like the squishy feeling of the Hulk.
4. Thomas and Friends
I know Thomas the Train is also a tv toy figure, but there is so much out there for it that I had to talk about it separately.
The best bang for your buck is this wooden track set.
If you have the space for it, you have to check out this train table. It does come with tracks, but that doesn’t mean you can’t add to it.
5. Dinosaurs
Holy smokes, there are so many dinosaur toys out there. These are the ones that get played with the most at my house.
6. Stuffed Animal
Toddler boys like to snuggle stuffed animals and those animals make great friends.
I think the ones that boys are drawn to the most are about a foot long or so.
7. Vehicles
Boys seem to be drawn to anything with a motor. And I know this isn’t specific to my house.
So, of course, I had to include our favorite vehicles on this list.
8. Tunnel Ball Pit
If you have the space, this tunnel bat pit is amazing and will get used.
I don’t keep ours up constantly, but when it goes up the kids are in it for such a long time. Perfect play for when the weather is junk.
9. Sports Center
This little sports center is for the younger toddler boys.
Older boys will easily get bored as it is too easy for them.
10. Making Music
Kids love to dance, sing, and make music if instruments are near. These will help them get their groove on.
Now if you are not the parent, please be polite and ask before you buy these gifts for your favorite toddler boy.
We have music going every day, so these get a good workout.
11. Mr. Potato Head
Since I do daycare, there are multiple Potato Heads around here, and the kids go nuts over them.
The boys get so silly creating faces that they laugh at their own creations. I love those belly laughs!

12. Board Books
These kinds of books are perfect for toddler boys. They are so durable and are a great way to get your kiddo to love books.
These are our favorite board books.
13. Books
Eventually, your little guy is going to grow past the board books and into regular books.
Now is a great time to start a library for him. These are the fan-favorite characters around here.
Girl, there are so many other great options out there though.
14. Me Readers
He is going to love reading with a book reader, and it will free up a bit of your time too.
The book reader comes with 8 books and reads the books to him. My kids can’t get enough!
15. 100 Words Book
This 100 Words book is going to get your little guy learning words like crazy.
It is made for the younger toddler and it will get used! And it is the perfect size for traveling also.

Educational Toys
16. Tablet
This tablet is amazing and helps with his letter and number recognition. You will be blown away by how much he will learn from and play with this.
We got this about 4 years ago and it is constantly played with.
17. Computer
This is another fabulous educational toy for learning letters and numbers. Very engaging for toddlers.
18. Phone
This phone is so simple but toddler boys are crazy over it. He will learn his numbers and songs to go with it.
He will also be able to “talk” to anyone he wants. We have 2 and they are constantly fought over.
19. Write and Learn Center
If your little guy is 3 or older, this write and learn center will be so helpful in getting him ready for preschool.
When my kids were toddlers, this came in the car with us every single time.
20. Puzzles
I love the confidence puzzles build for toddlers.
It also teaches them great problem-solving skills. We have a variety of puzzles but the ones I like the best are the wooden ones.
They are more durable than the rest.
21. Magnetic Maze
These are so cool. Not only do they help with fine motor skills, but they can also teach things like numbers, sorting, and letters.
22. Building Blocks
Are you ready to give him hours of fun?
Get him building blocks, and believe me – he can never have enough. His imagination is going to run wild with all the things he can build.
My kids go nuts over these!
23. Marble Run
What an amazing early STEM toy, a marble run.
This one is so great since he will be able to take it apart and rearrange the pieces.
It is so engaging for kids, and I watch every time a marble gets put in too! It does come with a lot of marbles, and I have to put this out there – it is NOT recommended for kids 3 and younger.
So, if your kiddo likes to put stuff in his mouth, I would wait a bit on this gift.

24. Play Kitchen
Your toddler will be cooking up gourmet dishes for you in no time with this play kitchen.
Keep an eye on him though, some of that play food looks incredibly real.
I have had to replace the play food from time to time around here.
25. Puppets
He is going to go nuts over these puppets. Get right in there and show him how to use different voices and make up stories.
I ran out of space to get this bomb puppet theater that our library has. We make do with a folding table that has a blanket over it.
26. Little People
There are so many Little People buildings you can choose from and he is going to play with them, no question.
We have these, and they get a workout.
27. Doctor Kit
Get yourself a doctor in the house and you can get a free check-up whenever you want, ha!
But really, he is going to have so much fun making sure that you are healthy and then move on to his favorite stuffed animals.
I don’t know how I always end up “sick” and needing a shot.
28. Workshop
He is going to have the best time fixing everything around your house with this workshop.
This makes a great deck toy on those sunny days, too.
29. Camping Tent
You guys, my kids only use this play tent inside.
I am sure you can take it outside on nice days but I wouldn’t leave it out overnight. He is going to have so much fun pretending to camp.
Be ready to try and squeeze in the tent with him. And I mean squeeze – it is not made for adults.
30. Binoculars
If the camping tent kit above is too much for you, I would still highly recommend getting some binoculars for your little man.
He is so curious about the world around him and binoculars will help him to explore more of it.
31. Dress Up Clothes
Yes, boys can wear dress-up clothes too.
Just the other day my youngest son had on his Captain America costume – "because I love it, mom".
Let him be little!

32. Boogie Board
I love boogie boards and they can be for anyone.
But they are fantastic for toddlers.
It gets him practicing his fine motor skills by drawing pictures and working on writing.
33. Water Doodle Mat
It only takes water pens to bring his drawings to life. And it is big enough for multiple kids to use it at once.
Now if those kids will only spread out a bit.
Does that happen at your house too? Let me know in the comments below.
34. Water Wow Books
Your toddler is going to have the best time with these Water Wow books.
He will spend hours using the water pen to bring all the hidden parts of the picture to life. Once it dries, he can start all over again.
It is so great for the car.
35. Color Wonder
Show of hands here, who loves less mess?
Pick me, pick me! If you don’t know what color wonder is, the markers that are made for this paper only work on this paper. We have so many of these, and I love to do them too.
36. Play Doh
I know we just talked about less mess and all, but you and I both know that Play Doh is amazing and kids love it.
Take it from me though, he doesn't need more than an 10-pack. Any more than that and it won't get used enough before it dries out.
You are better off going with an 10-pack or less and adding in some toys to go with it.
37. Color Books
Toddlers love to color. And even though it looks like scribbles to you, it will get better.
So, take a hot minute, grab a color book and some colors like crayons and markers, and join him in the fun.
Omg, our collection of color books is about overwhelming but with the daycare kids using them the pile is dwindling.

Outside Toys
40. Playset
Possibly the best outdoor toy investment you can make is a playset.
He will be crawling all over this thing for years to come. So, don’t think small here. Just get it!
41. Cottage Playhouse
I would have to say that this cottage playhouse is the 2nd most used outdoor toy we have, right after the playset.
It is the perfect size for him and he will be in it so much. Well worth your money.
42. Bubble Lawn Mower
Toddlers go bananas over this bubble lawn mower. Ours is out every day there isn’t snow on the ground!
These bubbles work best for refilling it. I wish this thing cut the grass for real, then I never would have to do it.
43. Sidewalk Chalk
He is going to have a great time with sidewalk chalk.
Your driveway will be covered in his pictures in no time at all. This is my favorite kind, and yes, I have a favorite brand of sidewalk chalk.
It washes off hands and out of clothes the easiest.
44. Picnic Table
He will be able to eat all of his snacks on those beautiful weather days on this picnic table.
It is used here way more than I thought it was going to.
45. Sit n' Spin
This toy makes me want to throw up any time I watch a kiddo on it, but toddlers love it.
I haven’t quite figured out why yet.
46. Cozy Coupe
Made for the younger toddlers, a cozy coupe.
Every kiddo that goes near a cozy coupe wants to be in it. And mine fight over it.
Even my older kids, who no longer fit well in it, still want to have their turn in it. Such a hit.
47. Ride on Toys
I am all about the ride-on toys around here.
They are great for building your little guy's large muscle groups and his balance as well. These are some great options when it comes to ride-on toys.
48. Battery Powered Ride
My kids were gifted a battery-powered ride-on toy and it is a smash hit.
There was a reason we did not buy a battery-powered ride on our own, the kids fight over having a turn.
Like every day there is a line to ride this thing. So, I know your boy is going to love it.
To be fair though, I always wanted one when I was a kid so I can fully see the attraction to it.
49. Balls
Toddlers and balls go together like peanut butter and jelly, people.
Have a variety on hand and he will play with them all.
We have these balls, and they get brought out almost every day!
50. Basketball Hoop
This basketball hoop is adjustable so your little guy will be able to use it for a long time.
I hear “watch me” so often when my boys play with this so make sure you stick around and be ready to cheer.
51. T-Ball Set
This t-ball set is such a confidence builder! And it is one of the cheaper gift options on this list. It can also withstand tons of use.
52. Sandbox
I know it girl, a sandbox can create such a mess but your little guy needs one, and here's why.
He will play for hours and his creativity will grow by leaps and bounds.
To be honest, my husband built our sandbox and it is dynamite. But this one works just fine.
Let me know in the comments below if you want a tutorial on how to build a bomb sandbox.
These toys and trucks get put to the test and have lasted around here for such a long time.
53. Water Table
He is going to have a blast cooling off on those hot summer days by splashing around at this water table.
I added in this magnetic fishing pole and animals set and all my kids went nuts over it.
This post was all about the best gifts for toddler boys.
Let me know in the comments below if I missed anything.
I look forward to hearing from you and thanks for stopping by.
