Baby Shower Guest List
Before we get too far into the party planning, you should get a guest list started.
You may already have some people in mind but make sure to ask the Mama to be who she wants to invite.
Does she want a few smaller intimate showers or one big one?
Almost every mama-to-be I know ended up having more than one baby shower. And how wonderful is it that so many people want to support her in this new adventure?
Halloween Baby Shower Invitations
After you settle on a mostly finished guest list, pick a date for this baby shower.
The only people you have to make sure the date works for are the mama and her most important guests such as her mom and of course you!
Pick a date over a month away, 2 months would be even better!
And remember, it doesn’t have to be on the weekend. I know how busy those get for everyone.
Now it is time to find those invitations, and it is best to go old school here and send snail mail! Every woman loves getting something in the mail.
Here are a few themed invitations for you to choose from.
Halloween Costumes
Since you are hosting a Halloween baby shower, I hope you want to ask all the guests to dress up in Halloween costumes! That is what I would do if I was hosting this bash.
Be sure to ask your guests to wear a costume on the invite you send out.
Some fun costumes that my sisters and I wore last Halloween include a Rockford Peach (that was me 😊), a butterfly, and Wonder Woman.
Baby Gifts
Gifts for the Baby
I know you are spending a lot of your time and effort planning this baby shower but don’t forget to pick up a gift for this new little bambino.
You can go Halloween-themed here and get this Trick or Treat Little Pumpkin book.
Or you can get something else that would be useful like Huggies diapers and Huggies fragrance free wipes.
I have had a long-standing love of Huggies brand. They simply work the best. And girl, being a previous daycare provider - I have tried them all.
Gifts for Mom to Be
I always get something for Mama to be too since she is doing all the hard work. Trust me here, she is going to be so tickled that you thought to get a gift that is just for her!
My go-to gifts are a great water bottle and some delicious chocolates.
If it seems like your money is flying out the door for this baby shower and the gifts, ask a girlfriend if she wants to go in on the gifts together.

Baby Shower Food Ideas
There are endless possibilities when it comes to a baby shower menu but don’t worry girl, I got you!
I love planning a menu for any party and have so much practice with it. Remember, I have 6 sisters and 1 brother so about 35 people are hanging out anytime my immediate family gets together. That is a lot of food to put together!
I love a good taco bar but some other delicious options include brunch, soups and rolls, sandwiches, BBQ, casseroles (or if you are from here – hotdish), and if you want to make it easy – pizza.
We did brunch for one of my sister’s baby shower and we included the following: Egg Bakes, Muffins, Coffee Cakes, Fruit, Sausage Links, Bacon, Coffee, and Orange Juice. It was so yummy!
Baby Shower Desserts
These take a little extra time but they are so worth it.
And if you need some Halloween cookie cutters then you have to check these out!
Sugar Cookie Cut Out Recipe
Sugar Cookie Recipe
2 Cups Butter
1 Package Cream Cheese, softened
2 Cups White Sugar
2 Egg Yolks
1 tsp Vanilla
4 ½ Cups All-Purpose Flour (I go with 5 cups of flour right from the start and then I don’t have to add so much after it is chilled)
Butter Cream Frosting
3 ½ Cups Powdered Sugar, divided
3 TBLS Butter, softened
1 TBLS Shortening (I usually do 4 TBLS Butter and skip the Shortening)
½ tsp Vanilla
3-4 TBLS Milk
Directions
Cream Butter and Cream Cheese until light and fluffy. Add Sugar, Egg Yolk, and Vanilla. Mix Well. Gradually add Flour and mix.
Cover and chill for 2 hours (or overnight).
Roll out to ¼ inch thickness using a half-and-half mix of flower and powdered sugar to coat your work surface.
Cut into shapes.
Bake for 10 minutes at 350°F. Cool on the pan for about 2 minutes and then move to a cooking rack.
Halloween Baby Shower Games
Ok, girl, I am not going to lie.
I am not the biggest fan of games at showers and it doesn’t matter what kind of shower either – bridal or baby, but I know some ladies really get into it.
So, here are a few that I have taken part in and have been a hit.
Guess How Many Candies are in the Jar
You know this game.
Put candies in a jar, my favorites are a variety of M&M’s – original, mini, peanut, peanut butter – and let the guests do their best to guess how many are in the there.
The prize can be the jar of M&M's!
Baby Shower Raffle Tickets
This could be for everyone who attends.
Hand out these cute ghost scratch-off cards and tell them not to reveal if they have a winning card or not until you say.
I love having this candle as the winning prize. It is a Vanilla, Coconut, and Pear scent, the scent lasts until the candle is gone, and it is cheap. You can find it at Walmart.
I love this candle so much that I have backups of it.
Name the Candy Bar
I was at a girlfriend’s baby shower when we played this game.
Take about 5 different fun-sized candy bars (I know you can find them since it is Halloween) and place each in their own diaper. Make sure to number the diapers and record which candy bar you put in which diaper.
Melt the candy bar in the diaper using the microwave. Then pass it around to the guests and see if they can guess which candy bar is which.
I hope you made the connection by now that the melted candy bar looks like mushy poop.
Halloween Baby Shower Favors
When it comes to any kind of party favor, I try to make it something that is completely useful for my guests or consumable.
Since this is a Halloween party of sorts, I would fully go with goodie bags of candy - Candy Bars or M&M's. This is perfect because you know that someone is going to eat it!
This post is all about the best Halloween baby shower theme.
What is your favorite Halloween candy?
I can’t get enough of peanut butter M&M’s and Twix. Thankfully my kids know this about me and they are willing to share their trick-or-treat candy.
I look forward to hearing from you and thanks for stopping by.
