Best Halloween Party Decorations Ideas
1. Halloween Balloons
Balloons are easy, cheap, and can make any party look fully decorated.
With the classic Halloween colors – black, orange, purple, and white – balloons can fill up all of your empty spaces.
You may also choose Halloween print balloons like these.
Partway through your party, you can take the balloons down and let the kids play with them. I have never met a kid who has turned down playing with balloons.
There are also these cool Halloween foil-shaped balloons, that I am going to use this Halloween. They can be deflated so you can use them over again.
2. DIY Halloween Ghosts
Balloon ghosts are so easy to make.
You will need: white balloons, cheesecloth, Halloween stickers (I know these were made for pumpkins but they worked so well for this project too last year!), string, and black Sharpies.
Blow up the balloons and tie a string on the closed end.
Cut the cheesecloth to whichever size you want your ghosts to be.
Drape the cheesecloth you want over the balloon with the string end pointed up. Wiggle the string through the cheesecloth, you may have to cut a tiny hole.
Apply the face stickers to make your ghosts come to life. You can also use a sharpie to draw on the ghost's face. Or just leave it plain.
We love adding faces to our ghosts. After we get them assembled, I leave the face-creating to my kids and try to get other tasks done for the party.
3. Streamers
Streamers are so versatile, that is why I love using them so much. They can fill in bare spots, and it hardly costs anything at all!
These are the perfect match for Halloween!
Our favorite way to decorate with them is by draping them on the ceiling. We also like to put them in doorways for our guests to walk through.
4. Pumpkins
What would Halloween be without pumpkins everywhere? I know this is the first decoration that comes to my mind for Halloween.
Grab pumpkins of all sizes from your backyard if you grew them (kudos to you) or your local pumpkin patch or store even. Place them all around at your party.
If you are looking for a party activity to do if you have kids at your party, let them carve your pumpkins.

MORE FOR YOU TO ENJOY
We found these amazing stickers for pumpkins last year for the toddlers attending our party and everyone was so impressed with them.
5. Pumpkin Lights
You will not be disappointed with these Pumpkin lights.
We used these pumpkin lights and were so impressed with them. They are battery-powered so we were able to hang them anywhere.
These are light enough that we had them up in our front window hanging on these suction hooks.
There was a remote and a bunch of different settings for the pattern of the lights.
6. Halloween Lights
If those pumpkin lights aren't your speed, then you have to check out these other Halloween lights.
A disco ball party light is also incredibly fun. We turned ours on later in the party when we decided to get our groove on with a dance party.
This bluetooth speaker helped us crank up the tunes, along with playing any song we wanted.
I use this speaker all the time throughout the year. Cleaning, decorating, cooking, and dancing, you name it and this speaker is on for it. One of my most used purchases.
7. Halloween Banner
Halloween banners come in all different sizes.
This is my favorite small Halloween banner. It hangs up nicely but also folds up pretty compact for storing.
If you are looking for a large Halloween banner though, try out this one.
8. Halloween Spider Webs
Halloween spider webs can help decorate inside your party as well as out in your yard.
They are easy to put up. But be careful what you put them on outside. Sometimes they can be a tangle to take down.
9. Halloween Bats
Hanging bats are so easy to use for decorating your party.
These hanging bats are made for the outdoors but you can certainly add them inside.
And girl, these bats are pretty big. Your party guests will be able to see them from a distance.
10. Halloween Garland
Halloween tinsel garland can be used in many places around your party.
You can hang it on the walls, wrap it around railings, or wind it around the food on the food table. It can even be cut apart to make a fringe type of decoration.
Your possibilities are endless with this stuff.
11. Halloween Candles
Give your party all the Halloween feels with battery-powered candles.
I like battery-powered instead of real candles since you do not have to worry about any of them tipping over or constantly having to check them.
Try putting the candles out on the tables where everyone will eat.
12. Halloween Witch Decor
Witches are a must-have when it comes to Halloween decorations.
My kids and I always crack up when we get to put up our witch. They think it is so funny that she hit a tree, and I love to laugh with them!
This year I am trying out these hanging lighted witch hats. I will let you know how they work out for us.
13. Scarecrows
Scarecrows are a great decoration that can be set out to enjoy not only Halloween but all of the Autumn season.
I like these small scarecrows for a Halloween party. They are small enough that you can add them to your battery-powered candles as your centerpieces for your tables.
These big scarecrows are perfect for decorating outside.
14. Haybales
Grab some haybales from your local farmer to use as seats and decoration.
First off, I would keep your haybales outside. They tend to make a mess!
You can set up an outside sitting area with these.
Last year we loved using them in our photo booth. They worked out so great!
15. Halloween Photo Booth
Our theme for the photo booth last year was It's The Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown. Classic Halloween movie!
My daughter and I took the time to make some life-sized cutouts of Charlie Brown, Sally, Linus, and Snoopy.
My Dad helped to zip tie giant yard stakes to the back of them so they could stand up.
We made them on large pieces of cardboard, kept from delivery boxes. I used this acrylic paint and these paint brushes.
After all the painting was done, my son helped me cut them out with a Reciprocating Saw. So much faster than trying to cut it with scissors. It gave a pretty smooth edge too.
Finally, we outlined all of our cutouts using this wide permanent marker. It gave them all a nice clean look.
The photo booth area was set up in a spot that had a nice wood fence backdrop but it was also right in the middle of the party so no one would miss it!
We put 2 hay bales in front of our characters for a place to sit. And gathered all the leaves we could find to place on the ground around it.
Decorated pumpkins were also put around the area to make the pictures look even more festive.
It turned out so great that it is requested to be at our party this Halloween.
16. Halloween Blow Up Decorations
Whether you are hosting your party outside or inside, Halloween Blow Up Decorations are great for welcoming your guests to your bash.
One year, some friends of mine who live in the country, got a bunch of inflatables. They put solar lights next to them to light them up.
Everyone went for a “spooky” hayride through the inflatables. The drive played Halloween music the whole ride.
My kids still talk about this!
Here are some great options.
17. Halloween Music
To add to the overall ambiance of your party, play some Halloween music.
And kids love to dance, so why not let the music play?
Happy Halloween
Have fun celebrating!
