Halloween Scavenger Hunt For Kids
Girl, even though we are talking about a “Halloween Scavenger for Kids” don’t think that it is just for kids 12 and under. It works to get teens and even adults into the Halloween holiday spirit.
Yes, that’s right. Get your teens off the couch with this incredible Halloween scavenger hunt.
This is fun to do with your kids, at a Halloween themed birthday party, and even at a Halloween party.
We always try to be as festive as possible. One fun way is to get some Halloween snap bracelets, glow bracelets or necklaces, or Halloween necklaces for everyone to wear.

When and Where
Girl, tell me, how many Halloween decorations do you have? Let me know in the comments below.
If you think you have enough to decorate your house and then do a scavenger hunt – keep the fun at home.
But if you are like me and just don’t have that many then you can take your Halloween scavenger hunt out and about.
If you think your kids can handle it and the weather is cooperating, go for a Halloween scavenger hunt walk with your kids.
However, sometimes it is just easier to go for a drive. Your kids will see so many Halloween decorations this way.
What are the ages of your kids? You have to consider this because I know missing nap time is just not an option for some kids.
If you are hoping to have that spooky effect then going right after supper is a great time.
We have tried having it at so many different times and they all work out but right after lunch seems to be the best.
Make sure you have your scavenger hunt before Halloween. People in our neighborhood are pretty quick to take down their Halloween decorations.

Rules
Rules are not necessary if you don’t want but they sure do make this Halloween Scavenger Hunt more interesting and fun.
Use as many or as few as you like, pick the ones that will jive with your kiddos. The more rules you have, the more of a challenge this hunt becomes.
- Everyone must wear a costume.
Kids will love this rule and you should too. Costumes can be expensive so why not wear them as many times as possible?
What is your favorite Halloween costume you ever wore? Let me know in the comments below.
I loved dressing up as Dottie Hinson a few years ago from the movie A League of Their Own.
- Split into teams.
If you have enough kids and adults that you can split into teams, I highly recommend it. The competition makes it more fun.
- Set a time limit.
We have only done this when we have had other families join us.
- Make it a photo Halloween scavenger hunt.
Have the adults take pictures of the items they find as proof that they found them.
Even better – have those kiddos jump in the picture. These are fun memories to see in the future.
- Harder items are worth more points.
Sometimes you will have the hardest time finding Halloween items. Make these items worth more points.
One year, no one could find a black cauldron.

You can always take points away from those who don’t follow the rules.
Since this is a game, have prizes for the winners.
You can go with something simple like Halloween candy which will be a hit with every kiddo.
But you can also get a little wild and put together a Halloween gift bag.
Reusable Halloween Trick or Treat Bag
You can also add a juice box or pouch. Kids love those.
Most of these items come in bulk so I was able to make multiple place prize bags.
End the Halloween Scavenger Hunt
