Plan to send them out 3 to 4 weeks before your party date. Everyone seems to have full calendars these days.
And what would a kids Halloween birthday party be without Halloween costumes? Make sure to ask your guests on the invite to wear their costumes!

Sugar Cookie Cut-Out Recipe
Ooo girl, do I have the best cutout cookie recipe for you that you will ever have in your life.
I never liked sugar cookies until I tried these – so delicious and worth the effort! We make these for so many holidays and special occasions throughout the year.
Sugar Cookie Recipe
2 Cups Butter
1 Package Cream Cheese, softened
2 Cups White Sugar
2 Egg Yolks
1 tsp Vanilla
4 ½ Cups All-Purpose Flour (I go with 5 cups of flour right from the start and then I don’t have to add so much after it is chilled)
Butter Cream Frosting
3 ½ Cups Powdered Sugar, divided
3 TBLS Butter, softened
1 TBLS Shortening (I usually do 4 TBLS Butter and skip the Shortening)
½ tsp Vanilla
3-4 TBLS Milk
Directions
Cream Butter and Cream Cheese until light and fluffy. Add Sugar, Egg Yolk, and Vanilla. Mix Well. Gradually add Flour and mix.
Cover and chill for 2 hours (or overnight).
Roll out to ¼ inch thickness using a half-and-half mix of flower and powdered sugar to coat your work surface.
Cut into shapes.
Bake for 10 minutes at 350°F. Cool on the pan for about 2 minutes and then move to a cooking rack.
Birthday Party Supplies
You don’t want to forget these essential party supplies.
I did that once and what a scramble that was. Thankfully, someone offered to run to the store for me.
Halloween Party Activities
You are going to want to have some Halloween activities set up for the kids and a few in your pocket, you know – just in case you need a few more.
At parties we have hosted, there have been kids with long attention spans and then some with about a 1-second attention span. Keeping them moving will keep them out of trouble!
Bounce House
I cannot recommend having a bounce house enough. The kids will be in it for most of your party!
You can buy one like this, or rent one like we usually do!
This is well worth the money!
Halloween Treat Bags
To keep kids busy at arrival time, have them decorate a treat bag.
Set out Halloween paper bags, Halloween stickers, and Crayola markers and let the kids go to town.
Halloween Pinata
Having a pinata is such a fan favorite around here.
If you have over 10 kids, you may want to get 2 of them!
This pumpkin pinata and ghost pinata are so cute!
Don't forget to fill it with yummy Halloween Candy.
Punch Cup Game
We just did this punch cup game at a party and it was such a hit.
If you feel like you have the time, you can easily make one with a cardboard box or 2, tissue paper, and Halloween treats to fill the cups.
It is time-consuming to make your own though and you want to spend that time making those delicious cookies I was talking about earlier. If that is the case, then you can buy it premade.
Decorate Pumpkins
Come on now, what would Halloween be without some pumpkin decorating?
Grab some small to medium pumpkins from your favorite local farmer.
For a party like this (and so you don’t have to sit and finish everyone’s pumpkins), I highly recommend decorating the pumpkins with stickers.
These stick on there, and don't slide off after being left outside either.
But if you want an activity that is going to last, have the kids carve them or paint them.
These paint pens are fantastic.
They are so easy to use, even for a 3 year old (the youngest pumpkin painter at our party).
Halloween Face Paint
If you have another adult helping and willing to paint faces, I would include this as an activity! Kids line up to get their faces painted.
I have used this face paint so many times and it is amazing.
It washes off with soap and water, except the red. Use a little makeup remover for that and it comes right off.
Halloween Scavenger Hunt
Do you go crazy about putting up decorations, like I do? Then a scavenger hunt is a perfect activity for the kids to do.
Check out this post of mine that is all about putting together a Halloween Scavenger Hunt.
Halloween Games for Kids
Do you feel like you need a few more options to keep your kids entertained? Then check out these fun Halloween games.
These mostly work for kids 10 and under but my daughter and her friends always join in and they are 12 and 13.
Halloween Photo Booth
When it comes time to set up your party, I hope the first thing you are setting up is a photo booth area. You can’t miss this opportunity to take pictures of everyone in their costumes.
A few years ago we made these Charlie Brown and the Great Pumpkin cutouts and all our guests were nuts over them.
If you aren’t feeling that crafty, these black and orange foil curtains, Halloween balloons, and Halloween lights will do the trick.
Halloween Birthday Decorations
Let’s move on to the rest of the Halloween decorations, shall we?
You can keep it simple and budget-friendly with these decorations: Halloween Colored Streamers, more festive balloons, and spider webs.
But if you want to take it up a notch (but still be budget-friendly), then you have to rock some bats, Halloween tablecloths, and Halloween hanging décor.
Outdoor Movie
A great way to end your party is with a kid-friendly movie. My ultimate favorite is It’s the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown 😊.
If you have the space, and it isn’t that cold outside, take the movie outdoors or even in a garage with this movie projector.
We have done this so many times with our neighborhood parties and the kids love it!
This post was all about the best kids Halloween birthday party.
What is on your list for Black Friday shopping this year? Are you a “in the store” shopper or is online more you jam?
Once in the store was enough for me so I stick to those online deals now.
I look forward to hearing from you and thanks for stopping by.
