Activities to Include with the March Theme Ideas
Before we get into which themes to use and how you can set them up for the week, there are some activities that you can easily include each week.
I know it is going to take a little gathering work for you but it will add to your kiddos' learning! You can do it!
Reading
When it comes to learning anything, including reading should be at the top of your list.
With so many amazing books out there these days, you will easily be able to find the right ones you know your kids will love. Don’t worry, I am going to spectacular examples for each theme below.
Good news for you, you don’t have to buy all of these books if you don’t want to. I do end up buying our favorites though.
Instead, check out your local public library. If your library is anything like mine, you can check out so many books at 1 time!
Letters, Numbers, and Colors
You can easily incorporate letter, number, and color recognition into any theme ideas and you should.
After all, repetition is the name of the game when it comes to little tikes and their learning.
This learning can be found in the books you read, songs you sing, artwork, and more. My point is, this doesn't have to be an extra thing because there is only so much time in the day!
Songs
Add in songs with every theme and it will get your kids moving, grooving, and singing along. They will get your kids learning without them even realizing it!
I find almost all of our songs on YouTube.
To make listening to songs even better, and louder, check out this Bluetooth speaker.
Trust me, your kids are going to love it!
You can find some dynamite songs on our favorite kid channels.
Coloring
Every single kiddo needs to work on hand strength and fine motor skills. Coloring helps build these skills a ton.
You can easily find so many free printable coloring sheets on Google Images and Pinterest.
I love having these colors on hand and so do my kids. The washable kind works best when it comes time to clean up.
Artwork
If you are not that great at coming up with art ideas on your own, ahem, like me, check out Pinterest.
There are so many fantastic ideas on there to try and your kids will go nuts over them.
Try to pick art projects where your kids have the chance to color, cut, glue, and more. Those skills are important to build on!
Outside Fun
With every theme, try to do some of your learning outside.
Have your kids use sidewalk chalk to practice making shapes, letters, and numbers.
You can also go on a scavenger hunt walk. They are so observant and will probably point things out that you have passed every day and never noticed.
