Toddler Easter Basket
Before you race out and buy an Easter basket, you may want to ask yourself a few questions.
- How big do I want it to be because I am going to have to fill it every year?
- Do I have room to store a basket or should I look at an Easter bag instead?
- And, if I have more than 1 kiddo do I want the baskets to match or be unique?
I have 4 kids and that is a lot of filling to do!
We went with medium-sized baskets and that for sure holds enough for each kiddo.
Looking back though, I would have gone with an Easter bag instead.
We just don’t have that much storage room.
As for the grass that most people seem to use, we skip it. I don’t like how it gets everywhere!
Toddler Easter Basket Ideas
1. Treats and Candy
Toddlers don’t need a bunch of treats in their basket.
I am not saying don’t put any, but maybe just a few and then consider some of these toddler Easter gifts too.
2. Easter Books
I am a home daycare provider and every toddler that I have worked with, my own included, loves books.
These Easter books are so engaging that they will be an instant favorite at your house.
Little Blue Truck's Springtime
3. Sidewalk Chalk
Let your toddler get a little messy and creative with this sidewalk chalk.
I always repurchase this sidewalk chalk because it has vibrant color and it washes out of clothes so well.
4. Bubbles
We love bubbles here and I know your toddler will love chasing after them too.
5. Kite
Put a kite in your toddler's Easter basket. This will have to be something that you can do together.
Kites come with lots of different patterns now and are pretty cheap.
My kids love going to the park near our house to fly their kites.
6. Sunglasses
My kids were 2 when we started putting sunglasses in their Easter baskets. They loved wearing them.
For my daughter, we went with some amazingly flashy girl ones, she loves her color! And for our 3 boys, we went with character sunglasses.
Try to keep these in the $20 and under range since they aren’t exactly careful with them.
7. Socks
All toddlers, and kids, need to be restocked on socks. There are so many fun ones you can pick or you can stay pretty neutral, your call.
We had great luck with Carter's socks lasting, for both boys and girls.
Character socks are also fun but they are pretty thin and get holes in the heals.
8. Stuffed Animal
This line of stuffed animals is so great!
They are small enough that your toddler can snuggle it and carry it around.
It is also the perfect size to sleep with.
9. Binoculars
We got our kids binoculars a couple of years ago for their Easter basket.
It was amazing to watch them instantly become more fascinated with nature.
These binoculars have held up pretty good considering they have been dropped a time or 2.
Now those binoculars are usually found in the car so my kids can take a closer look at the wildlife we see along the way to grandpa and grandma’s house.
10. Sandbox Toys
Whether you have a small or larger sandbox, it seems you can never have enough sandbox toys.
These toys are made to be the sturdiest of things, so it is great to have a few more than you think you may need.
My kids spend hours upon hours in our sandbox and I know yours will too.
Get right in there with them and have a blast!
11. Water Wow
If you haven’t heard of these Water Wow books, you need to give them a try!
Fill up the water pen with water, paint the picture and watch hidden pictures come to life. Then you let them dry and do it all over again.
We used ours so much that they wore out, yep me too.
That was after years of use and many kids using them. You and your toddler will not be disappointed.
I give these out as gifts all the time!
12. Bubble Lawn Mower
Your toddler wants to be just like his parents, chores included.
He is going to have a blast with this bubble lawn mower, even if you decide to not put bubbles in it.
I think we have had our bubble lawn mower for 6 years now. And every summer it gets taken out and used just about every day.
The bubble part finally stopped working but my kids and daycare kids don’t care. They keep cutting the grass.
13. Extreme Egg Toss
This is a cute and festive game, Extreme Egg Toss.
We have the version of pass the potato and my kids love playing it. Lots of giggles every time.
If you don’t mind toys flying around your house, this would be a fun game to get.
14. Chicken Toy and Play Eggs
I got this Chicken Toy and Play Eggs as something festive for my kids and daycare kids to do.
Even though it is a toy, there is a lot of learning going on here.
It works with fine motor skills, shape recognition and matching, and color recognition.
15. Every Bunny Prays
My parents gifted my daughter this Every Bunny Prays Keepsake for her first Easter.
She loves that little bunny still, even though she is almost 11. These are incredibly precious.
There is a boy version as well.
Toddler Easter Dress and Clothes
I love dressing up for Easter, ever since I was a little girl. Maybe this is why I love having my kids get dressed up for it too.
There are so many great dresses, fancy clothes for boys, and pajamas to choose from and they will easily fit in your toddler's Easter basket.
I usually get something that I know they will be able to wear again. Otherwise, girl, it can get expensive!
Toddler Easter Crafts
These easy craft kits will help keep your toddler entertained at home or if you are visiting family and friends for Easter.
You can put them in your toddler's Easter basket or bring them along to share with all the kiddos at your Easter celebration.
My favorite craft is the foam Easter egg magnets because we can save them and put them on our fridge year after year.
The Easter bunny masks are my kids' favorite and they will run around with them on all day long, so cute.
Toddler Easter Egg Hunt
When we had our daughter, my husband and I had to talk about what we wanted to do with things like Santa and the Easter bunny. Turns out our childhood traditions did not match.
So, we both said what we loved about the holidays, what we wanted to continue with our kids, and if we wanted to start anything new with our kids.
For a toddler Easter egg hunt, we landed on this.
My kids set out their Easter baskets, filled with empty plastic Easter eggs. We have some fun Easter eggs too. Our kids love these special ones.
Then after we know they won’t wake up; my husband and I stay up late filling eggs with Easter candy. I always get candy that I like, then I can have some too.
First, we hide their baskets which have a little Easter gift inside. Then we hide all 110 of them. Our kids don’t think this is enough.
We hide all the eggs either all inside or all outside, depending on the weather.
Easter morning, our kids have to first find their empty basket. Those who find them first have to sit and wait. No helping, they try hard at this.
Then the egg hunt can begin.
Last year, we hid them all outside and the squirrels chewed through a handful of eggs and ate the candy out of them.
I hope your toddler's Easter egg hunt is eventful and so fun for you to watch. Happy Easter!
