Best 5th Grade Boy Gifts

1. Backpack

If your son has been rocking a character backpack in the past, this may be the year that he wants to switch it up and go for a solid color.

You will want to go with a backpack that will last him for a few years and Jansport makes solid backpacks.

They are a bit more expensive but they are built to last!

2. Water Bottle

Hydration is more important than ever for 5th grade boys because they start sweating more.

These water bottles are rockstars and all are leakproof.

Owala Water Bottle

Stanley Water Bottle

Hydro Flask Water Bottle

BruMate Water Bottle

3. Lunch Bag

It might be time to upgrade his lunch bag as well.  This is the one that you have to check out.

It is small enough to fit into his backpack but big enough to fit all the food he will need.

You can also put this mini Thermos in it with room to spare.  This Thermos holds way more food than you think and will keep his food hot or cold until lunch if you follow the directions.

4. Watch

My 10 year old is obsessed with knowing what time it is and how many steps he has taken throughout the day with this watch.

Gosh, wouldn’t it be nice if knowing how many steps you took was your biggest concern?

Anyway, this watch is a rockstar and it has USB charging.

5. Books

I always try to encourage more reading because I know how important it is so I usually add a book or 2 in every gift I give.

These books are so great for 5th grade boys.  And don’t forget the joke book either!  Boys this age love to be goofy, so let him!

Diary of a Wimpy Kid

Harry Potter

Joke Book

6. Paper Airplanes

You will be surprised at how much your son will want to create all of these paper airplanes.

Give him a paper bag to hold them all and just let it happen.

It will keep him busy for hours.

7. Legos

Holy smokes, Legos are such a huge thing for 10-12 year old boys and I love it.  It keeps him busy and lets him get creative.

I know there are so many kits but… Classic bricks are the best.

8. Sports Gear

Keep him up and moving with his favorite sports gear.

I know there are so many sports and activities your son can choose but playing football, basketball, and soccer are the easiest to play in your yard.

Basketball

Nerf Football

Soccer Ball

9. Sports Cards

Recently one of my friends gave my boys a stack of football cards and they went nuts over them.  Then my 5th grader’s buddy came over when the cards were covering my living room floor and he jumped right in the mix.

So, what I guess I am saying is that if your son has any interest in sports, he will love the sports cards that match.

Get him this card binder. It zips all the way around so no cards fall out.

10. Remote Control Vehicles

My son is into anything remote control.

We got him this truck, which I love to take my turn on.

11. Nerf Guns

Boys love Nerf guns and I know why, they are such a BLAST!

But of Nerf guns, I do not like all the Nerf darts that I find everywhere!  Thankfully, I banned the Nerf guns to just the basement so at least they are partially contained.

12. Laser Tag

These laser tag guns are so much fun.

Multiple sets work off each other!

Since the days are getting shorter, your son and his friends are going to have a great time running around in the evenings playing laser tag.

13. Walkie Talkies

A set of walkie talkies is the perfect addition to playing Laser Tag or having a Nerf Gun battle.

Don’t even bother with cheap walkie talkies, you will be wasting your money.  Been there, done that☹.

Instead, get these man walkie talkies and he will be able to use them forever.

14. Binoculars

Since it is fall, there will be wildlife out everywhere.  And if your son is like mine, he will want to get out and see it all.

He will be able to get up close and personal with this set of binoculars.

15. Fishing Tackle

Does your son like to fish?  You can hook him up with some amazing fishing tackle.

Fishing Lures

Bass Frogs

Mister Twister

My kids love to fish so getting fishing gear as a gift is a no brainer.  It can be used for forever!

We fish for Northern Pike, Bass, and pan fish and this is the tackle that we have had the best luck with.

16. Games

Games are so great for spending time together and will give your son something to do with his time that is screen free.

We love playing board games here.  Don’t get me wrong, my boys tell me they never get to play video games long enough.

Here are the games that my 5th grader likes to play the most.

Ticket to Ride

Gravity Maze

Rush Hour

Blink

Let me know if I missed any must have gifts for 10 and 11 year old boys. I will be sure to add them.

I look forward to hearing from you and thanks for stopping by.
