What To Get A 14 Year Old For Her Birthday
Flowers
The first thing you have to plan on getting your birthday girl is flowers. She will love this!
I have my husband bring our daughter home flowers on her birthday and she can’t get enough. It is something special just from Dad (with my secret help).
Treats
Holy cow, teens are all about snacks and treats. They are bottomless pits! Stock her up on her favorites.
Here are some rock star options.
Instax Camera
The Instax Mini camera is so much fun for teen girls. We both know girls are all about taking pictures.
Digital Camera
Another camera option is a small digital camera. Don’t be surprised how much it will get used, because she will use it!
Twinkle String Lights
Let’s talk about string lights, teen girls love them!
I have to admit, they are pretty cool and I would have wanted them when I was a teen too.
These are so light that she can hang them up with Scotch tape.
These small command hooks also work great.
Include mini clothes pins if you want your girl to be able to hang pictures from them.
Water Bottle
Unless you have been living under a rock, you know there is a water bottle craze.
The Stanley Quencher is trending right now but the Hydro Flask is also oh so good.
Yeti Mug
A Yeti Tumbler is the perfect gift for teen girls who want to drink Hot Cocoa, Coffee, and Tea.
I know Yeti’s are old news but girl, my daughter is always taking mine because she says it works the best. She isn’t wrong either.
Nail Polish
Essie nail polish has so many colors to choose from that I know you will find a few shades for your birthday girl.
Don’t forget the clear top coat to help it last as long as possible.
Press On Nails
You know how your daughter is bugging you about getting acrylic nails and you don’t want to take her because they cost so much.
Girl, check out these press-on nails. They are so much cheaper but still last a long time. She will love them!
Lip Balm
Help her keep her lips hydrated with the EOS lip balm.
Some teen girls like the stick version while others love the sphere. Both are fantastic. The vanilla scent is always a hit.
NYX Lip Products
NYX has fantastic lip products and teen girls can’t get enough. Both of these sit so nice on the lips, add some color, and the best part is they are cheap. So, you won’t be disappointed if your girl doesn’t wear them that often.
Laneige Lip Products
If you are looking for something more like a lip balm then you have to get her the Laneige Lip Glowy Balm or even the Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask.
The sleep mask is dynamite and she can wear it as a lip balm all day long too. And the container lasts forever!
Makeup
Most new teen girls want to start trying out makeup. Get her a few rockstar, easy-to-use drugstore items to try out.
Makeup Brushes
Real Techniques has face brushes and eye makeup brushes that apply makeup beautifully and they will last her a long time.
Include Cinema Secrets makeup brush cleaner so she can keep her makeup brushes clean and germ-free.
Sol de Janeiro Body Spray
These girls want to smell good, and I agree.
The trending body spray right now is from Sol de Janeiro. They all smell so good and they aren’t as expensive as perfume.
Sugar Body Scrub
Tree Hut Sugar Body Scrub is so good and cheap. It has over 140k positive reviews on Amazon alone!
Please tell her to use it only about once a week though. It is an exfoliant. If she uses it more than that her skin can react negatively.
I have smelled all the scents and Coco Colada smells like a beach vacation!
Bluetooth Speaker
She will love listening to music on this JBL Bluetooth speaker.
It has way better sound quality than playing music off the phone.
Earbuds or Headphones
If you just don’t want to listen to her music anymore, earbuds or headphones are more of what you are looking for.
Watch
This fitness tracker watch is so good. It is a great introductory watch to see if she will like wearing it.
Don’t spend your money on a more expensive smartwatch until she is a bit older.
Hair Tools
Help her hair look its best with some dynamite hair tools.
Shark FlexStyle (I know this is an investment but it is worth it if your girl loves to style her hair)
Hot Tools Straightener (also a bit more expensive but worth it)
Hair Accessories
Set her up with a few more mature hair accessories.
The Crave hair brush is so good. It is made to use on wet or dry hair and all hair types.
These hair clips and Kitsch hair ties are what teen girls are into right now.
Ugg Slippers
Every teen girl wants Ugg slippers because they are amazing. They will keep her feet cozy and warm.
Cozy Socks
My daughter and all her friends are nuts over these cozy socks.
And there are so many cute patterns to choose from. They are perfect for lounging around the house.
I did swipe them from her one day and wow, they are so soft and warm.
Everywhere Belt Bag
They are small, which makes them light, but they are big enough to carry everything they need to have.
Sunglasses
Sunglasses are always a hit and you know she will use them.
Check out these sunglasses.
Ball Hat
This ponytail ball hat and this winter hat are both from the C.C. Brand. They are so good that you will want them too.
Pajamas
Teen girls love comfy pajamas, I mean who doesn’t really?
Clothes
You know your girl’s style best so I am not going to recommend something specific here but get her some clothes. She always wants clothes!
You can even step outside the box and get her school gear.
Travel Mirror
Since she is a teen now, she cares about how her hair looks and her makeup (if she wears it). This travel mirror is amazing.
It is slim and durable, the cover flips to become the stand, and it has rechargeable lights. She will take this thing everywhere.
You can also get her a compact mirror if you think she needs something a bit smaller.
Books
If your birthday girl is a reader, expand her library.
These books never get old.
Kindle
If it turns out that she is a mega reader, get her a Kindle.
And 100% you need a cover to go with it. It will get dropped.
You can save money on books by checking out eBooks from your public library.
Personalized Stationery
My daughter gave one of her friends this personalized stationery as a birthday present.
She liked it so much that she asked for it for her birthday.
This personalized address stamp and Paper Mate felt tip pens (because those are the best I am told) are the perfect way to complete this gift.
Notebook
Preteen and Teen girls love to write. They write notes, letters, journals, and even stories.
You can’t go wrong with an elegant notebook and Paper Mate felt tip pens.
Clip on Lamp
Not the most glamorous gift but girl let me tell you, she will use this lamp!
Blanket
Have you noticed that your girl is starting to hang out in her “cave” (her bedroom) a little bit more? Mine too!
Make her as cozy as possible with this Sherpa fleece blanket. It is so soft and warm.
Saucer Chair
This is the chair your girl needs for her bedroom – the saucer chair.
It is small and cozy and she will sit in it all the time!
Games
No one is ever too old for games. And I can guarantee she will have fun with these.
Nintendo Switch
If your girl is into video games, get her a Nintendo Switch. If she already has one, maybe get her a new game.
I love video games but with 4 kids I have no time to play them. What about you?
Experiences
I have noticed that since my girl is getting older, she doesn’t want as many things as much as she wants to go and do things. Set up a fun experience for her.
It can be bowling, seeing a play at the theater, going shopping and letting her pick out a few new items herself, eating out at a fancy restaurant, and so much more.
Gift Cards
If none of these ideas seem right for your birthday gift, there are always gift cards.
I save gift cards as a last resort because they are so boring to open, even if they are useful.
This post was all about what to get a 14 year old for her birthday.
